Hannah Storm’s Burn Injuries Following Propane Fire Were Documented By ABC News

Hannah Storm was burned by a propane gas grill fire three weeks ago, and hosted the Rose Bowl Parade on ABC yesterday, while sporting a wig, and having her burned left hand bandaged. ABC interviewed her last night and showed pictures of the aftermath of the fire. Scary stuff, if you have ever used a propane grill (I have had mine flame up on me, need to be more careful). She is lucky to be recovering and back on the air. Good luck to her.

On top of his AD salary of $1 million, Barry Alvarez got $118,500 to coach Wisky in the Rose Bowl yesterday. If he had won he would have gotten a $50,000 bonus on top of it.
It’s not related to the parade really but I do expect a haughty post from the Duffmeister about this later today.

Spring 2010, pleasant day. I have a 3 year and a 18 month year old running around the yard. I start up the grill for first use in a while. Things are fine. I throw on some foil-packed potatoes and then go inside to prepare the pork chops. Kids are with me. 3-year old goes, dad the grill’s on fire. I presume he’s just referring to the smoke. Uh huh. Him and the little one glued to the door. I walk over with the plate of meat and the fire is about 5 feet above the roof of the grill.
Unfortunately, my two boys decided to use this excitement to bolt out the house. I’m in a debate whethere to corral them, save the food, turn off the propane, dial 911. Had no idea. Screamed at the kids to go in the house. Then called 911 and then went in and with some towels shut off the propane.
Fire truck was leaving as my wife pulls in driveway wondering how I managed to get the fire truck there in brief time I was alone running the house.
short version: make sure tubes that carry propane from tank to grill arent aged.

Doesn’t seem too egregious. Bielema left 12/5, correct? So Alvarez had to serve as HC for about 4 weeks. Bielema made $2.5 million this year, so Alvarez is actually working at a pretty deep discount over what they would have paid the HC for 4 weeks ($192k).
