Ballin’: Old Man Vince Carter Dunked All Over the Wizards
LA Lakers 99, Philadelphia 103: Andrew Bynum’s return to LA wasn’t anything special, since he didn’t play. But Jrue Holiday scored 26 points, had 10 assists and just one turnover and the Lakers fell under .500 again (15-16). Evan Turner at his best is very good – 22 points, 13 rebounds, five assists. Kobe scored 36 points on 29 shots, but when Ron Artest is taking nearly as many shots (17) as Howard (7) and Gasol (12) combined …
Atlanta 95, New Orleans 86: Noteworthy because Eric Gordon played his second game with the Hornets, (5-of-17 in 23 minutes, 11 points, four turnovers). The Hawks are 20-10.
Dallas 103, Washington 94: Vince Carter scored 23 points, including two impressive dunks, and the Wizards are now 4-25. Stan Van Gundy is essentially laughing at them. Nobody will want this job with this abysmal roster. The lottery-bound Mavericks are 13-19.
Detroit 103, Sacramento 97: Quietly climbing out of the early-season funk: The Pistons, who have won three in a row. At 12-22, they still won’t sniff the playoffs, but at least they’re not the dregs in the East, anymore. Rookie Andre Drummond in 21 minutes: 7 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks. The Kings still haven’t traded DeMarcus Cousins (or Jimmer). Cousins had 21 points and 14 rebounds; Jimmer scored 14 points.
Portland 105, New York 100: The Knicks missed 27 three-pointers, and couldn’t find offense outside of Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith. Anthony (45 points) and Smith (28 points) did their part, taking 46 of the team’s 84 shots. Will this be life without Raymond Felton? Here’s a dunk by Amare following nice hustle from Smith. Amare scored six points in 16 minutes in his first game of the season.

Austin Rivers another strong performance, 1-5 from the field, three points in sixteen minutes.

Arguably the most ridiculous line I’ve read on this site. Novak and Kidd may not want to go scoreless

Is it not noteworthy because the Hawks are solidly 3rd in the east and probably the 2nd best team in the east?
/Go Hawks

Beating that lottery drum pretty hard. Could see them passing Hou, Port, Utah naturally, but probably need an injury to pass anyone else

I’ll take the Knicks and Bulls when healthy over ATL
January 2nd, 2013 at 11:26 AM
I’ll give you the Bulls because Rose is just that good, but I don’t see the Knicks.

Crazy how the 4 best active UNC players in the NBA all played for Dean Smith.

Fair enough. I’d like the see NYK acquire a natural 3 who defends to play in crunch time, so Anthony can stay at 4. Maybe Hill or Barnes for Camby as the principals.
1 Kidd
2 Smith
3 Hill/Barnes
4 Anthony
5 Chandler

There is no way this is true. Carter can still play. I assume you mean Stack, Sheed, Jamison? All three are beyond washed up

not a good move. The depth they have at the big man spot between Chandler, STAT, Rasheed, Camby and Thomas has already paid off this season with the number of games missed by injury. Plus last year when Chandler would leave the game, it would effect the defense dramatically because of the lack of depth. They can get good defense of the 3 position from a combination of Brewer, Shumpert, Smith, and even Anthony. Their problem is Shumpert is out, and Brewer has never really been healthy this year. I can see them putting him on the injury list as soon as Shumpert returns.

a starting lineup of Felton, Kidd, Shumpert, Anthony, Chandler makes we want to vomit.
fuck jeff green and courtney lee. lazy bastards

No mention of the Clippers’ streak ending? I guess that makes sense

stark, just waiting for them to crush the Lakers by 25 on Friday.

Me, too. I’m just waiting for the Josh Smith era to start at Georgetown. I’m sure a guy that was too undisciplined to play for Ben Howland will work out just great in JTIII’s offense.

How much eligibility will Smith have? Look forward to see him making those backdoor cuts. Definitely worth the gamble though.

they looked slow and lethargic. In other news, weed clubs opened up in Colorado on New Years Day.

I haven’t seen it written down yet, but he’s only got one more year. If he comes in mid-season next year, I think he just gets that one semester.

Josh smith could do better at georgetown if he got in shape and lost a lot of weight
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:08 PM
They’ll have Amare back to consume 30 mins at the 4-5. Anthony will play a lot of 4 still and obviously Chandler gets his 30 at 5. They don’t need three backup centers. Neither Shumpert nor Smith have the size to fit into the 3 properly, especially considering guys like Lebron and Deng on the competition. Ronny Brewer may be the worst shooter I’ve ever seen from a perimeter position, so that option doesn’t inspire.
