My 4th grade teacher used to do that (non-controversial division). Every once in awhile she would misspeak, as people do. Then someone would say, “Oh I think you meant to say “Y” instead.”

And instead of saying, “yes, thanks, that’s what I meant”, she would ALWAYS say, “That’s what I said.” God that pissed me off. I wonder if she’s dead now.
