  More people should use this tact. When there is evidence of saying something they weren’t supposed to say, just deny it anyway. It works apparently

  My 4th grade teacher used to do that (non-controversial division). Every once in awhile she would misspeak, as people do. Then someone would say, “Oh I think you meant to say “Y” instead.”

  And instead of saying, “yes, thanks, that’s what I meant”, she would ALWAYS say, “That’s what I said.” God that pissed me off. I wonder if she’s dead now.
