Mo Farah, Olympic Gold Medal Hero, Held By Customs Officials As a Terrorist Threat Before Returning Home to Portland
Mo Farah, the Somali-born Olympic athlete who won two gold medals for Great Britain, is tired of being detained by U.S. Customs officials when he tries to enter the country, because of his birth country. He even tried to present his gold medals in the ultimate “do you know who I am?” move.
“I couldn’t believe it. Because of my Somali origin I get detained every time I come through US Customs. This time I even got my medals out to show who I am, but they wouldn’t have it.”
Farah was most recently trying to return to Portland, Oregon where he lives and trains near Nike headquarters, and to see his family for Christmas. He was questioned by Customs officials, something that he says happens constantly. In fact, Farah also claims that on a previous entry, he was told he would have to stay in Toronto for 90 days, before the issue was resolved.

This does not bother me.

If it happens every time, logic suggests he should believe it

Happens to me everytime I try to enter North Korea

You ever see video of a guided tour in North Korea? It’s awesome. They put on a ridiculous show in the national stadium for just one tourist. If all this goes on in front of the camera, it makes me wonder what kind of crazy orgies, etc. they’re offering up behind the scenes

Yeah. It’s the Vice Guide to North Korea. It’s on Youtube. Vice’s visit to Liberia is pretty awesome/depressing too.

Yup. Some of the best documentaries I’ve found on Youtube. Louis Theroux’s stuff is highly advisable too, but there isn’t much volume. I’m all ears if anyone has another good channel/source on Youtube.

It doesn’t bother you that the people tasked with securing our borders can’t differentiate between people who are legitimate threats and non-threats? Ok then.

That NK documentary is mind blowing. Thanks for the info on it

I agree with PAR5N2

I wouldn’t expect them to, so I’d rather them just be thorough.

They aren’t being thorough, they’re just being lazy. These are the same people who are searching 3 year olds before getting on planes and telling paralyzed people they need to stand up out of their wheelchair. Clueless and unaccountable.
