Belk Bowl: Cincinnati vs. Duke
The Combatants: Cincinnati went 9-3, were fun to watch and did not beat anyone of note. Their best win, probably, was beating Syracuse 35-24 at home. Butch Jones left. Tommy Tuberville came straight from the dinner table. Duke went 6-6, earning their first bowl trip since 1994. David Cutcliffe finally had the depth to have his team compete in ACC games for four quarters.
Hype: The Cincinnati Bearcats will be wearing some snazzy helmets. These tickets were in higher demand than the Orange Bowl.
Recreational Prediction: Cincinnati [-9]. Duke relies on a high-volume passing attack. Cincinnati ranked 17th in passer rating against and finished in the Top 30 nationally in both sacks and interceptions per game.

was beating Syracuse 35-24 at home.
Cuse beat Mizzou! Arrgh. Hating not having a rival anymore. This would be another great season of hoops rivalry. Eagerly await the committee seeding KU 1 and Mizzou 2 in the Tourney for a trip to the Final Four.

Gotta make up for the Military Bowl. Love the Dogs, as always, taking DUKE +9.5. Thinking Cutcliffe is the better coach. Hats off to roastbeast for the picking the better coach in the bowl season.,

Beast, but didn’t you say that last weekend? I thought you replied to that.

Beast, nice hit with the SJS and the OVER in the Military Bowl. Had the over in my scores (low 50′s in the projections), but backed off in the last minute and went with the dog. Felt really good when BGSU went up 20-19.
I took DUKE and went against them several times this season. Had them at +9.5 when they played VATECH and went up early 20-0 and then let VATECH score 41 unaswered points!

Maybe I’m just in the mood to watch football, but the first half of this game has been incredible. 16-0 Duke to start game, goal-line fumble, 79-yard punt, a team screwed out of a 54-yard field goal. Cincy with a great comeback. Good stuff all around.

Classless move by Cincy on the delay of game. Didn’t realize you can’t refuse the penalty and accept the FG. Cutliffe was fired up, took the interview pretty well.

SC shows up to bowl dinner an hour late. Vintage Lane. The Leonard Williams tweet was good stuff though.

Not watching, what happened?

Duke gets itself in position to kick a 53yd FG, using the last 30 seconds of the half. Kid lines up to kick, you can see Cincy moving players onto the field as the ball is snapped and kicked. Kick is good, however, Refs blow the kick dead, penalized Cincy 5 yds, Duke kicks again from 48 yds and misses to the left.

And that’s why I could never bet on sports. Yeesh.

This was a pretty brutal beat for Duke backers.
