The Seahawks lost to some very poor football teams on the road this year. At times in the past it has seemed that the Giants were actually better on the road, which defies logic.

Seahawks have been Jekyll and Hyde for years, remember when 7-9 Seattle spanked the defending SB champs in Seattle in the playoffs?

I think Gilbride can draw up a playbook, but as a playcaller, he sucks. But the Giants execution has been bad, the line has been leaky as holy hell in the second half of the season.

I agree with this, but a decent coordinator would make adjustments to having a leaky line

That’s a stretch. Tough to be a part of two championship teams and many highly productive offenses while being as bad of a play caller as you’re describing

It may be tough as you describe it, but as evidenced by Gilbride, not impossible. As a playcaller, he sucks.

2012 Seahawks: 7-0 at home, 3-5 on the road
2011 Giants: 4-4 at home, 5-3 on the road

Plus go look at Wilson’s home/road splits…the Hawks are markedly better in Seattle whereas the Giants were essentially the same team regardless of location

Gilbride has put together some really strong offenses throughout his career. I don’t know all the dynamics of why he’s only had one head coaching job

Putting together strong offenses and playcalling are seperate entitities. He may be a good QB confidant, he may be able to structure the concept of an offense, however his ability read the flow and adapt his playcalling to it, sucks. For that reason he is far from an excellent coordinator. If I remember correctly, that was the gist behind the blowup between him and Buddy Ryan on the sideline
