New Orleans Bowl: East Carolina vs. Louisiana-Lafayette
Bowl: New Orleans Bowl
Toasting Town: New Orleans
Vintage: 2001
Louisiana-Lafayette: The Ragin-Cajuns have an efficient offense, ranking 9th nationally in yards per play. They did not beat anyone of note, though their effort at Florida, losing late on a blocked punt, lingers in the memory. They should have a substantial home-field advantage (expect that point to be made early and often).
East Carolina: There’s not much to like here. The Pirates went 7-1 against Conference USA, but that was against Conference USA. Their best win was beating Houston at home. They played one-score games late in the season against UAB, Tulane and Marshall.
Points: These teams rank 83rd and 86th respectively in yards allowed per play.
Recreational Prediction: Louisiana-Lafayette (-4.5).

ECU look horrendous.

This should come as no surprise. Their coach is Ruffin McNeill.

These Pirate serfs are waaaay too hungover to tackle. Gotta keep Ivan away from Prince Igor if you want your crops harvested.

Caribou- I’m starting to think picking the best coach is the most effective bowl handicapping method, at least when there is a decided advantage. IMO Arizona-Nevada was the only close coaching matchup thus far. Aside from that game, I believe the better coach has won every game

Duffy was all over Louisiana-Lafayette with 20/35 confidence points.

Alabama spread would usually be an obvious play for me, but I’m hesitant to bet against Kelly

ECU punted from the 50, 4th and 2 down 14 points in a meaningless game. Jackasses. like myself I assume everyone who picked ECU never watched them play.
Tackle you idiots!

In a vacuum, I’d have no problem with this decision. However, their defensive ineptitude should’ve influenced them into going for the first down

I am not familiar with this man but after spending two quarters with him I wish him harm.

So far, that is a sound approach. I lean also with who has motivation to win the bowl game. that’s where I got burned last nite, didnt think UCF would have the motivation to show-up. They did and they took control early on and never looked back.
As for the Bama game, the line is UA -10, and if I’m a ND fan, I’d grab those points now. Line could come down a little (-8, maybe a TD) as we move closer to the game. This Bama team is not the same as last year’s team, DEF is definitely not the same. ND believes they can win, and I wouldnt go against that. There something to be said about winning close games and they have down that all year.
My prediction: Bama 24-17
If it gets to a TD, I’m taking Bama, but if it stays where it’s at, I’m not touching it.
Anyone got a feel for the UDub/BSU game this afternoon? Friend is a big Dawg fan, he feels they should keep it close, maybe an outright win. UW has been awful away from home and you wonder how the Apple Cup loss affects them.

Took almost two quarters to sweat out last nights sazerac but the Pirates are back.
/so many things I should be doing instead of watching this
//not going anywhere

Look upon Ruffin McNeill’s genius ye mighty and tremble.
