Calvin Johnson Sets Single Season Receiving Yards Record, Surpassing the Great Jerry Rice
Calvin Johnson has surpassed Jerry Rice’s NFL record of 1,848 yards in 1995. He will try to get to 2,000 yards next week. It feels a little hollow for a variety of reasons–the Lions are throwing it more than any team in NFL history, and they have done it primarily while losing games. Still, Calvin Johnson is now right there with the great Jerry Rice, and there’s no doubt who the best receiver in the game is. Too bad he doesn’t have the coach and team around him.

Hopefully Drew Brees was watching and saw how a class act handles breaking a record and a much bigger record at that.

Calvin is a class act. And a great example of how a superstar should act off the field. If only he had a great OC and great QB.

Only five TD’s this season. That has to be the yards to TD ratio with a minimum of three TD’s.

If only he had a great OC and great QB.

Wake me up if he’s still putting up crazy numbers in 8 years. He’s the biggest freak I’ve seen at the position since Moss, but it takes longevity.
