Watch and Laugh as Mark Sanchez Throws Four Interceptions and Fumbles the Snap with the Game on the Line, While Jon Gruden Slams Him
Mark Sanchez, and Mark Sanchez alone, is the reason the Jets no longer have a shot at the NFL playoffs. The running game was working. The Titans defense committed 11 penalties. The NYJ offensive line did give up four sacks, but protection was otherwise pretty good. The Jets’ defense forced 10 punts. This one’s on Sanchez (and if you’re looking to rip someone else, offensive coordinator Tony Sparano called another confusing game).
Pick an adjective to describe his five turnover performance (three in the final eight minutes of the 4th quarter!), and it applies. I’d go with appalling because, as you can see in the video above, 4th year QBs aren’t supposed to make such poor decisions over and over and over again.
We’ll have to take some time to ponder ways the Jets can avoid bringing him back next year, but that’s going to be difficult, given the fact that he’s guaranteed over $8 million. I just don’t see how the team can feel remotely positive about next year following this performance. What trust or confidence will they have in the offense, regardless of what moves are made elsewhere?
Also, he’s got an NFL-high 50 turnovers in the last two years.

That was the best terrible game I’ve seen in a while. Just hilarious.
Some of the worst throws imaginable. Double, triple, even quadruple coverage and he’s just lofting it up there.
December 18th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
Usually you have to wait until your 14th year to make passes that bad.
/Favre’d
December 18th, 2012 at 9:53 AM
is the reason the Jets no longer
December 18th, 2012 at 9:53 AM
you know what the best part is? Well, all of it, but specifically this. 3 of those awful arm punt type INTs that were just awful throws were First and 10 plays.
I blame Schottenheimer, or the receiver situation, or the defense, or the GM. I’d also like to remind you that Sanchez led the Jets to 2 AFC championship games, on the strength of this same caliber play. I know because somebody kept saying it.
December 18th, 2012 at 9:54 AM
Also, he’s got an NFL-high 50 turnovers in the last two years.
Wow. Impressive.
December 18th, 2012 at 9:54 AM
i never liked the way the jets used sanchez. i feel like they wanted him to be a qb in the peyton manning mold by making at the line adjustments before abandoning that strategy in favor of bland running instead of putting him in situations that fit his skills. sanchez is pretty good moving out of the pocket and they rarely design plays for that…
meanwhile washington, with a shitty rookie, destroyed the browns using nothing but the same three or four play action bootlegs. was having jake plummer flashbacks the whole time. that’s the type of offense sanchez could do well in.
December 18th, 2012 at 9:58 AM
Wow. Impressive.
that’s actually been done very recently in the same media market, but by a QB who is “elite” by the crappy standards of ESPN.
December 18th, 2012 at 9:59 AM
And I swear Jay Paterno was running the offense last night. The absurd QB carousel where as soon as a guy has a few good plays he’s pulled. You literally have no idea which QB is coming on the field at any given time.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:01 AM
Tirico was beyond giddy last night at the Jets blowing it. Awesome
December 18th, 2012 at 10:02 AM
Sanchez is 4-2 in the playoffs. You just have to give him time to work out his kinks.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
ok, now we have more than enough evidence that the jets suck, and sanchez is beyond horrible. most of us knew that a year ago, but maybe now we ALL know. So how about no more posts on these assholes? Please?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
“That’s how this game should end”…I like how he won’t bullshit the viewer watching a terrible game like Mayock who tried to make a lot of those Thursday abortions sound like the Super Bowl
December 18th, 2012 at 10:05 AM
Rock & a hard place. Liquidate some assets to recoup the cost. Set him free. He’s make a good backup somewhere next year.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:05 AM
What’s hilarious is that the Jets owe Sanchize 9 million next year, and I promoise you no teams are waiting in line to pick up that tab.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:05 AM
I think it was Dungy who tweeted it last night, but that game was exactly why that jackass Goodell CANNOT expand the playoffs. Teams like the Jets are bound to sneak into those extra spots, and those are the kind of games we’ll get. Awful.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:07 AM
but that’s going to be difficult, give the fact that he’s guaranteed over $8 million.
cap hit is 17 million whether they keep him or cut him. The 8 million is his either way, too. Just a smart organization.
They were giving away guaranteed contracts to everybody, in a league where nobody has guaranteed contracts.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:07 AM
I’d also like to remind you that Sanchez led the Jets to 2 AFC championship games, on the strength of this same caliber play. I know because somebody kept saying it.
You mean it was Thomas Jones and a tough defense all along?
So how about no more posts on these assholes? Please?
Not happening. We’re going to get a ton of offseason Jets posts here — at least one when the GM gets canned and maybe two if/when Tebow is traded to Jacksonville for a “My Little Pony” DVD set.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:08 AM
Jason – since you loves GIFs so much, maybe this will cheer you up!
December 18th, 2012 at 10:11 AM
It was awesome. Can’t even trade Mark Sanchez, starting looking at package trades with players on the team, he’s such a toxic asset. You would have to give up your only young cheap players to unload him. Maybe San Fran jersey sales could afford it, doubtful.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:11 AM
I like posts about the Jets more when they’re terrible than when they were OK but tbl believed they were awesome.
Can and will.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:13 AM

If I were a Jets defensive player, I would have give Sanchez a Code Red after last night’s performance.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:19 AM
Hey Clown, you forgot they were all on the road.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:19 AM
I enjoyed the stat on Sportscenter this morning about the Jets’ record in games where Sanchez throws at least three interceptions. That’s not a stat you want to see a few years into your career.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:20 AM
At least the GM post will be well-thought out and researched.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:21 AM
Cowherd had a good opening today about how the Falcons drafted Matt Ryan and built an offensive around him, making lots of offensive draft picks.
The Jets did the opposite – all defense.
Yet another explanation as to why Sanchez has regressed the last season and a half. He had a nice two year run. It’s over. Not sure how he can play another down for this franchise.
that’s two years in a row, season on the line, that he’s been the problem.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:21 AM
He doesn’t even know how to properly conduct a hostile press conference.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:22 AM
if you look at the last interception over the middle … Sanchez had his checkdown, Greene, WIDE OPEN 5 yards in front of him.
Instead, he threw into triple coverage.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:23 AM
Gruden was money last night. He pointed out Buttfumble changing with a “KILL KILL KILL” last night and as a Cowboys fan it sort of jarred to me — haven’t heard Romo spout that much in the last couple weeks.
I think three or four guys named Brady, Manning, Rodgers and Manning can handle the double play/read at the line. If Romo isn’t capable – and he’s better than Buttfumble – what in God’s name was Sparano thinking giving Sanchez that freedome? Especially, and as Gruden said, the Jets had ‘dialed back’ the playbook to help with his comfort? I’m not a Jets fan but I’m not so sure how much Rex is the problem as compared to Buttfumble and Sparano.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:23 AM
pause the video at :59 to see how wide open Greene was.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:23 AM
The Lions did the same with Stafford.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:24 AM
Yet another explanation as to why Sanchez has regressed the last season and a half.
i like the simple, truthful explanation that sanchez is just not a good qb, period.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:25 AM
Off his back foot, falling back even more, with mild pressure in his face…It was as textbook a “scared shitless” play as you could ever hope to see.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:26 AM
I wouldn’t make any excuses for Sanchez, but bringing in Tebow was criminally stupid.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:27 AM
If Buttfumble isnt the best nickname ever, i dont know what is.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:27 AM
baby hands!
December 18th, 2012 at 10:28 AM
He’s actually been the problem for 4 years, but yeah, keep thinking he was good those other years.
/pitching wins is a GREAT stat.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:30 AM
Favre had 51 turnovers over a two year period as well, (2005-2006). Couldn’t find the record for that stat though.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:30 AM
Frankly this is all bullshit. The simple fact is that Sanchez can’t accurately throw the football. Combine that with the fact that he folds under pressure and you get a very highly paid career backup. It has very little to do with the team around him. If you put him on the Patriots, they’d be lucky to win 8 games.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:31 AM
Gruden’s “every time I look on the sidelines, it looks like the Jets are working on a difficult Calculus problem” line was great!
December 18th, 2012 at 10:32 AM
The Sanchize has no confidence in himself. That was a forced throw trying to be a hero.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:34 AM
1. Sanchez wasn’t ready when he came out. Pete Carroll was right.
2. The Jets have done nothing to improve him.
3. Everyone fooled themselves into thinking he was great cause the team was winning.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:34 AM
Where do the LOLJets go from here? Trade for Kirk Cousins? Alex Smith? Matt Flynn?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:35 AM
Sanchez put up a truly Lindley-esque performance last night. It was quite fun to not watch.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:36 AM
Not for sale.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:36 AM
Worse QB situation, Jets or Cards?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:37 AM
You ever been as wrong with anything in sports as bad as Sanchez, Jason?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:38 AM
Gossip Girl had its final episode last night, and no post?!
December 18th, 2012 at 10:39 AM
Cardinals and I’m not sure it’s close. Maybe if Kolb could stay on the field it owuld be different.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:40 AM
Just a guess, but I think it might depend on what they do with their GM and who they bring in for the job next.
I can’t imagine that Tannenbaum (and Ryan) is going to be retained after this season. The guy who gets the job next might be the guy who says he will try to rehabilitate Mark Sanchez (somehow) in order to recoup that guaranteed money they gave him.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:40 AM
We’ll have to take some time to ponder ways the Jets can avoid bringing him back next year, but that’s going to be difficult, given the fact that he’s guaranteed over $8 million.
I have a way: Go to this website and read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_costs
December 18th, 2012 at 10:40 AM
Jets. Cards will have a shot to re-set in FA/trade. If the Jets are stuck with Sanchez/Tebow/McElroy next year, hi-larity will ensue.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:40 AM
Gotta be the Cards. I think Ken Whisenhunt is competent and is working with garbage.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:41 AM
2009: 3/3 picks were offense.
2010: 3/4 picks were offense.
2011: 4/6 picks were offense.
2012: 4/7 picks were offense.
So since Sanchez was drafted, 14 of the Jets’ 20 picks have been offensive players.
So no that’s not right at all.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:42 AM
You’ve never read his writings about baseball, have you?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:43 AM
People want more sports. I want less. 50 game NBA season, 10 teams making the NFL play-off rather than 12, World Cup and Olympics every 5 years instead of 4, 0 game baseball season.
Seriously, let’s raise the importance of every game.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:43 AM
Easily the Jets. The guaranteed money for Sanchez trumps everything
December 18th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
So Cowherd AND Jason are wrong about Sanchez? A USC homer and Jets homer???
/shocked
December 18th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
This is the problem…he hasn’t regressed. He’s the same QB he has always been. It’s like that Nate Silver tweet you referenced a week or so ago. Sanchez is exactly the same he was 3 years ago, the defense just isn’t as good. His stats are very consistent. As Golfercraig referenced, the only way he has regressed is “wins” and that’s just a shitty metric to measure a QB.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
I’d bet a large sum of money that Cousins gets traded this offseason for a few picks.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
I feel like there’s more to Ryan sticking with Sanchez at this point than the whole contract situation.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:46 AM
I will take that bet.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:46 AM
Nice work.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:47 AM
What about Matt Flynn? What does Seattle do with him?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:47 AM
If anything the problem with their drafting strategy is that they left themselves as the team with the fewest picks two drafts in a row because of moving for Sanchez.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:49 AM
Because your head coach is an idiot and deactivates his best QB, but has six recievers active.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:49 AM
thank god the browns moved down for a pro bowl center instead of drafting sanchez and…god damnit, even with that pro bowl center, sanchez was still better than any of our qb’s.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:50 AM
He’ll be cut, will be making too much to be a backup and only signed a two-year deal so it’s no skin off their ass
December 18th, 2012 at 10:50 AM
1. Alex Smith
2. Draft Eddie Lacy?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:50 AM
Cousins is only being traded this year if someone offers a 1st, which the QB-needy teams will not do, yet. Let him increase his value by coming in to win a couple games each year.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:52 AM
Kirk Cousins, Alex Smith, Matt Flynn?
Why? Why they can just draft some guy in the 3rd round and give him shot.
They won’t have money to pay anyone if they eat the Sanchez contract.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:52 AM
I guess they would at the right price, but you wonder how Shanahan will play his backup QB situation. They are going to need a decent one, as RG3 is going to still be expected to make plays with his legs, which might make him more prone to injury.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:53 AM
14 of 20 offensive players. LOL.
how many 1st and 2nd rounders?
How many of those 14 are currently on the team?
good job, good effort.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:53 AM
I was told the Jets OC from last year was the issue. That not the case?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:54 AM
cousins better come with one of the shannahan’s because if he didnt have that zone blocking PA game, he’d be dogshit. some HORRIBLE throws on sunday.
but when the entire OL blasts off in unison, that’s one helluva PA sell. i just dont trust cousins without that scheme and playcalling…not with that arm.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:54 AM
Jets draft history can be found here.
http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?teamId=3430&type=team
hope this helps.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:56 AM
2012: First round, defense. Second round, offense.
2011: First round, defense, no second round pick.
2010: First round, defense. Second round, offense.
2009: First round, offense, no second round pick.
So three and three. No offense indeed.
Good job, good effort.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:56 AM
Exactly, why wouldn’t Cousins be on the market seeing how the Redskins don’t have first round picks for the next two years?
December 18th, 2012 at 10:57 AM
So by trading for Sanchez and giving up a ton of picks they didn’t have picks to get him help (plus with the selections they had they didn’t get good players)…what a franchise, I can see why they felt they were bigger in NY than the Giants for a while there
December 18th, 2012 at 10:57 AM
yep…still 14.
December 18th, 2012 at 10:58 AM
No one’s trading a first round pick for Kirk Cousins, Al Davis is dead now
December 18th, 2012 at 10:59 AM
Then they didn’t pay anyone to block for him or the 9 running backs they’be had since. Stafford can win in this league (not big, but he can win) but no QB gets hit as often as he does it seems.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:02 AM
You don’t know this. What if a team offers a 2nd and 5th? The skins need picks after moving up to get RGIII. They can sign a suitable backup for next to nothing. It’d be dumb not to trade him.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:02 AM
I have. But I believe I’m mostly just trying to rub it in. Damnit, Jason, answer the question!
December 18th, 2012 at 11:02 AM
and that is why he will still be on the Redskins. They’re in no hurry to trade him.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:03 AM
The offensive line has done a very good job protecting him for most of the season. Last game the O-line was terrible though.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:04 AM
Spencer – slight difference in spending 4-5-6-7 round picks on guys (some of whom aren’t even on the team, or never made it in the first place) who you try to put on offense.
1st/2nd round picks?
and please don’t compare the Patriots late-round picks to the Jets … we’ve already shown the Jets have no clue what they’re doing the last few years in the draft
December 18th, 2012 at 11:06 AM
last night, it was all Sanchez. the play-calling was terrible – why call a pass on 1st down, 2 mins left from the 20? – but Sanchez made poor decisions.
last year the OC did suck. Sanchez failed at the end of the season, as I wrote many times (Giants game, Dolphins game)
December 18th, 2012 at 11:06 AM
I don’t think Ryan should be MVP at all, but dude is having a great year. 68.5%, 7.8 YPA (higher than Brady, Rodgers and .06 behind P. Manning). 27 TDs, 14I INTs and a 97.5 rating.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:06 AM
As evidenced by moving up to draft the Sanchize
December 18th, 2012 at 11:06 AM
to recap:
Sanchez clutch in 4 playoff wins the first two years; unclutch the last two years late in the season with the playoffs on the line
December 18th, 2012 at 11:07 AM
Redskins are only missing their 1st round pick next year, as they have at least 1 pick in rounds 2-7, with 2 picks in round 5 (from the Haynesworth trade to NE). 2nd round picks are far from a sure thing. Would rather stick with the person who has proven his value to this team (Cousins), than risk it on a mid level pick.
Also, who is a proven suitable backup out there, that will be a FA? Some teams don’t even have 1 suitable QB on their roster.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:08 AM
In J-Mac’s defense, the Falcons have drafted 3 offensive players (2 OL and Julio) in the first 2 rounds since drafting Ryan in 08.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:08 AM
Anyone else see Mark Sanchez kick a Titan last night with intent to injure?
December 18th, 2012 at 11:09 AM
Agreed that the Jet defense isn’t nearly as good now
December 18th, 2012 at 11:09 AM
You’re putting way too much stock into a weak-armed rookie qb with one decent performance. Sell high.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:09 AM
and how is that not an indictment on the jets drafting? you can find quality role players in those rounds, or at least guys that can contribute on special teams…thats what we’ve been criticizing tannenbaum for for awhile. he gutted the team’s depth.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:11 AM
He had a thought bubble over his head like in cartoons?
December 18th, 2012 at 11:11 AM
to recap:
The Jets gutted their draft for two years to draft Sanchez. They have made moves outside of the draft to get receivers for him, they have had above average line play and RB play for the majority of his career, they have drafted for defense and offense but a lack of picks has hampered them greatly regardless of what side of the ball they are using them on.
Sanchez is awful. Bottom line.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:11 AM
NFL GMs know he’s a weak-armed rookie too, he won’t fetch the type of price you’ve thrown out there…just because deals like the AJ Feeley one have happened in the past doesn’t make them the norm
December 18th, 2012 at 11:11 AM
What’s amazing is that the Julio trade seems to have been worth it. I was not a fan of it when it went down, but when you watch ATL with Julio and without them, they’re totally different. They can’t beat anyone without him as he changes their entire offense.
/still want AJ though
December 18th, 2012 at 11:12 AM
was a good trade for both teams…phil taylor has a similar impact on the browns DL, greg little’s solid too. i was on /team weeden before last week’s game, but still…taylor and little are quite solid.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:13 AM
This is a fantastic job of showing why describing somebody as “clutch” or “unclutch” is dumb. Great job Jason, I’m proud of how far you’ve come!
December 18th, 2012 at 11:13 AM
Sanchez is awful. Nobody would argue that.
Also, nobody would argue the OL has gotten worse over the last 3 years, the RBs have gotten worse the last 3 years, and the WRs have, too.
it ain’t getting better next year, that’s for sure.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:14 AM
Flacco has still turned out reasonably well for an unknown third-round pick.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:14 AM
I rarely know if you’re kidding with the “clutch” and “unclutch” talk.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:14 AM
Haven’t spoken to you about this since the start of the season, but you still think not trading up for RG3 was worth it?
December 18th, 2012 at 11:15 AM
Not good enough. Cousins has measurable value to the Skins because he is more than likely going to start games every year. Unless you want those games to be throw-aways (competitive NFC East doesn’t allow that), you need a good backup.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:15 AM
Like I said–well researched and thought out.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:16 AM
TJ Ward’s a douchebag though. Need to fix that.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:17 AM
absolutely. pat shurmur’s as bad at using his players skill sets as mike shanahan is good at it. there are too many holes to fill to give up picks like that…if they made that trade, the browns wouldnt have their starting RB, RT or 1st rounders the next two years and probably wouldnt have used a suppy pick on josh gordon (who’s fucking LEGIT).
December 18th, 2012 at 11:17 AM
Htown: What’s going on in Austin? Seems like everyone is jumping ship.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:17 AM
he might be a dbag, but he’s a damn good safety.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:21 AM
He started one game and they beat the Browns, lets all calm down a bit.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:22 AM
For Kirk Cousins? The fuck outta here, turning a 3rd round pick into that is quite the move
December 18th, 2012 at 11:22 AM
Reminded me of Landry with the Skins. Delivers a big hit down by a couple TDs, then gets up talking shit.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:22 AM
Maybe this Shanahan ripjob from a few weeks ago.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:23 AM
Came in and saved a situation against Baltimore when a lot of QB’s (looking at you Sanchez) would have peed their pants.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:23 AM
You talking recruits or coaches? Seems like Diaz may be leaving (of his own volition), too. The Harsin thing doesn’t worry me much. Hopefully Major can do the job well.
The recruiting trend is worrisome. If A’Shawn Robinson jumps to USC…yikes.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:24 AM
i get that…but ward’s just a plain sicko. and, unlike landry, is actually very productive. actually makes big hits in big moments too. plus, no gym pics, which is always nice.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:24 AM
yea, that’s bad.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:25 AM
You must have missed the end of the Ravens game the week before. He’s not worth a 1st rounder, or even a 2nd in my eyes; but denying his value to this team is ignorant. You think Rex would have helped win either of those games?
December 18th, 2012 at 11:25 AM
So, how can you tell if he has awesome pecs?
December 18th, 2012 at 11:25 AM
Exactly. I think these kinds of guys do more harm than good. Shit talking like that often focuses the opponent and further motivates them to kill you.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:25 AM
Yeah – he was so clutch in the game he went 12 of 23 for 100 yards with 1 TD and an INT (W at SD his rookie year). Don’t forget the 18 for 31 for 189 yards and an INT game either (W at IND his 2nd year). Those games will live in playoff lore forever.

test
December 18th, 2012 at 11:27 AM
are skins fans REALLY getting on ward for taunting when pierre garcon put on that shitshow on fucking sunday? get the fuck out of here.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:27 AM
My favorite part about the Shanahan “article.”
December 18th, 2012 at 11:28 AM
Gossip Girl .. didn’t watch but Miss Lively killed in that gold wedding dress. She is simply too, too, diveen.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:29 AM
Or they could just have gotten RG3 then hired a real offensive coach this offseason. Browns definitely should have traded up, but then again, so should any team without a top qb
December 18th, 2012 at 11:29 AM
Really? Had not heard that one.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:31 AM
Cousins for a second and fifth would be more than fair composition for the Skins and if I were them I would jump on that.
Matt Flynn definitely will become available cheap for teams like the Jets and Cards next year.
Hell maybe even Carson Palmer gets cut and the Jets can have another diastrous USC QB if they don’t draft Barkley.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:32 AM
I may be jumping the gun a bit. He reportedly interviewed for the FIU job on Monday.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:32 AM
This needs to happen. Line him up beside Leonard Williams for an unblockable duo
December 18th, 2012 at 11:33 AM
schwartz is a stud, gordon’s a stud, richardson’s been fairly good despite playing with 3 broken ribs and looks to be for real. those are 3 productive starters that a new QB can come in behind…and i think weeden could be pretty good with more experience and a better playcaller.
those starters wouldnt be there if the browns had rg3 and they wouldnt have had the picks to get players like that. i just don’t agree. the skins were in a much better position to use him well.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:33 AM
Yes, I would take that in a heartbeat for Cousins. Highly doubt anyone offers that much though
December 18th, 2012 at 11:34 AM
This was fun.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:34 AM
Watching his last 4 games reminds of being in the stands watching our Class S (small) high school quarterbacks play. Suffice to say, the team lost, at 1 point, 11 straight years to our rival on Thanksgiving. Lets say a 5 yard pass was an adventure kinda like the Jets.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:34 AM
Oh OK. I think I did hear he was interviewing for that. I don’t really get all the optimism about Major being the savior — seems to me that if Mack is still around they’re going to have problems. But what do I know.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:35 AM
whoa…Jason just busted out the big boy stats on you posers and colored on all your faces.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:35 AM
But if RG3 has a hall of fame caliber career…
It’s not a sure thing this happens, but you have to take a franchise qb over several starters IMO
December 18th, 2012 at 11:35 AM
Does Kiffin last for his entire 4 (or possibly/doubtfully 5. or maybe 3) years? I’d bet money against Mack doing so.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:36 AM
Looked like Haden was doing his share as well. Don’t remember who started it.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:37 AM
I think Kiffin’s gone after the year, but I wanted him gone this year, so I’m not the most objective prognosticator of Pat Haden’s decisions
December 18th, 2012 at 11:37 AM
I don’t think hardcore fans see anyone as a savior…except for the (near?) future head coach, whoever that turns out to be.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:39 AM
whos to say he wouldve had the same career here? i know you take the QB over several starters, but not if you sacrifice the ability to get those starters when you have the QB. the skins didnt have to worry about that, the browns did. that’s the difference.
haden’s like a lil coked up mighty mouse…he’s like that all game, on the sidelines, at bars, at tribe and cavs games, etc. that’s just who he is.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:41 AM
With the Ravens’ injuries, their defense is a joke. Five worst in the NFL.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:44 AM
I was ok with his. At least the corner is the one doing battle with the wr. often safeties just fly in (Ryan Clark) and make a cheap shot and then act like they did something so great. CB’s at least earn the right because they are on the island and have to back it up.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:51 AM
With the Ravens’ Quarterback, their offense is a joke. Five worst in the NFL.
/Fixed for Flacco.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:52 AM
Garcon has spun the ball like that in every game he’s played in this year…Sunday was the first time he had been penalized for it.
December 18th, 2012 at 11:56 AM
He’s from Mount, he can do no wrong
December 18th, 2012 at 12:00 PM
best part is that people seem to take glee in the fact the Jets stink. definitely more interest in this team in free fall
December 18th, 2012 at 12:03 PM
Sadly once Rex and Sanchez are gone they’ll return to being the same uninteresting bunch they were during the Pennington era
December 18th, 2012 at 12:06 PM
Matt Flynn definitely will become available cheap for teams like the Jets and Cards next year.
why in the world do you think he’d come cheap to anybody? He’s expensive in dollars, and QBs always sell high, unless they’ve failed colossally, which he hasn’t. All he’s done so far this season is not beat out Russell Wilson for a job.
December 18th, 2012 at 12:10 PM
Starting a rookie third round draft pick at QB when you’ve signed a free agent would have been unthinkable back in the day. Still fairly ballsy by Carroll if you ask me. I really like Wilson, so I’m glad it’s worked out so well.
Seattle is up to 11th in the NFL in points scored, for what that’s worth.
December 18th, 2012 at 12:13 PM
He’d come cheap in compensation because he’s expensive in dollars. Seahawks would love to get out of that contract
December 18th, 2012 at 12:14 PM
‘Tana taught him well. Such a, “The U” move.
December 18th, 2012 at 12:16 PM
Maybe its all those super bowl guarantees your overrated coach makes.
December 18th, 2012 at 12:18 PM
Or the presshound moves the owner makes
December 18th, 2012 at 12:31 PM
What in Tebows name are you talking about?!?!?!
December 18th, 2012 at 1:02 PM
some playoff appearances, but certainly nothing like 09/10
December 18th, 2012 at 3:15 PM
Why would the Skins trade Cousins? RG3 will miss games here and there.
