Hey guys,

Former TAMU student here. So at A&M we have the 12th man which is all the students and every year we pick one of our students to be on the kickoff team and he wears the #12 jersey. By offering Miss Fox that jersey was like an invitation into the A&M family, it was not a random number, just wanted to enlighten everybody. Have a Merry Christmas!

Larmax78, I appreciate the explanation of the thumbs up and the school history. I was just busting his chops cause he does look goofy in those pics, though he knows he’s representing his school and does so proudly.

I’m glad TXAM is in the SEC, lot of tie-ins with Bama over the years, especially with Bear Bryant, Gene Stallings, etc. Lot of proud Aggies fans this year and for good reason.

Gig ‘em sign: Thumbs up! . . . as in “Gig ‘Em, Aggies!” Comes from the old school tradition of Texas A & M being am “Agriculture and Mechanical” College, hence “A & M” . . . and TAMU has YELL LEADERS . . . not cheersleaders . . . because for the longest (until 1973) it was all male and everyone was in the Corps of Cadets that trains more military officers that any of the Academy schools. Johnny Football is simply touting the 12th Man and Texas A&M . . . Gig ‘Em!

And for grins . . . I’ll suggest you’ll be seeing this a lot more over the coming years as TAMU is now on the much bigger SEC stage . . . and its players are winning awards right and left . . .i.e. Heisman and AP Player of the Year and Luke Jockel: Outland Trophy Winner
