Tiger Woods is “an emotional train wreck” and “not a good example for the kids” According to Golf Resort Owner
People can’t help but take shots at Tiger Woods now that he’s past his prime and injury-plagued and has fallen off his pedestal. The latest person to fire a shot in Tiger’s direction is Clive Palmer, a really rich golf course owner in Australia who is trying to keep a PGA event at his course on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. Palmer wants golf to continue to grow and doesn’t see Tiger Woods in the sport’s future. From The Australian:
“Tiger Woods isn’t the No 1 golfer in the world any more,” Palmer said. “We don’t want to look backwards, we want to look forwards. So why would you get Tiger Woods here? I would prefer to have Peter Senior than Tiger Woods.
“I am sure Peter Senior could beat Tiger Woods on a good day. I am sure he could.
“Tiger Woods has improved a lot but he’s an emotional wreck and he’s not a good example for kids, anyway.”
Poor Tiger. He didn’t even do anything this time.

all his problems were regarding parts of his game that are fixable with practice and reps…short iron distance control, bunker play and putting. he’ll be back…his driving and irons are there already. only a matter of time.
plus, rory doesnt have the work ethic to ever consistently beat him. until he shows he does, tiger’s a sleeping giant rather than a lesser giant.

Had that Saturday.
Yesterday high was 65 with 30 mph winds and gusts up to 40. We see that a lot in the spring so I don’t mind practicing/playing in it. Had 108 yds for an approach into the wind. Hit my 140 yd club, pured it, went about 99 yds. Balloon ball.

see I dont do that; Best player in the world any year should have about 4 wins, 1 major, and a few close calls where he played well; I dont expect 10 wins and a shitload of cuts; I think some of those Tiger and Byron Nelson years had some mitigating factors (mainly in the fields) that helped (also all-timers at their peaks too, dont get me wrong).
I always said I think Rory will be more of a Seve type in terms of productivity; I think 5-7 majors quick in his career.

I saw the Stones in concert before most of the commenters here were born, and even then, Keith Richards looked like the zombie apocalypse warmed over. I stood 10 yards from the stage and was in awe that he had not toppled over three songs into the set.

the nelson/tiger eras are completely different…apples to oranges. tiger’s fields were never decimated from a world war’s draft. tiger’s fields were doing just fine before he blew up the pga.
maybe in terms of results, rory and seve are alike, but stylistically, theyre not exactly similar. rory’s more the modern greg norman in that he’s so good, he cant help but win a few majors, but there’s just something missing. he’s a lot like phil too…dumb mistakes but close to unbeatable when everything’s clicking.

The not working hard thing may or may not be true, but he’s already got two majors. It could be argued he ran away with both because of his stupid course management, which becomes justified aggression when he’s striking the ball at Hogan levels.
Granted I like Rory for his easy going style, humility, maturity, balanced lifestyle and pace of play. It’s not fair to compare anyone’s commitment to the game to Tiger IMO because Tiger is a fucking maniac.
