The year Charles Woodson won the Heisman, I stopped at a rural gas station to fill up….a couple sweet old ladies were in there talking about college football and the Heisman….one of them out of the blue says “yeah, but they will prob just give it to that n****r”. Depending how conspiratorial you want to get, it could be argued cocaine is a much more lucrative product than crack, and this is the motivation behind the laws.

This isn’t my formal position, but I believe American drugs laws are so convoluted and mired in political corruption that it’s difficult to deduce true motives

Spencer- To be fair, crack is a much worse drug. Laws regarding it may or may not be racially motivated, but they definitely look bad

Ben Franklin- The justice system is classist IMO. Not sure what the “job system” is. I agree there are people who will discriminate in hiring, but I believe those are individual racists, and it’s near impossible to alter the way racist’s feel. I fail to see the institutional forces at work in this regard

Institutional racism has been dead for a generation. I’m no longer accepting that argument. As for the “not apples to apples”, that is preposterous. All forms of racism are equally deplorable, and I reject the concept of a credit system that endows certain groups with future racism privileges for their former plight.

Just because you don’t accept it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. There are still lingering effects socially. A dog taken from an abusive home will still cower when placed into a loving home when the owner raises its hand to pet him. I’m not claiming any racism is acceptable, I don’t think Lee posting the address is necessarily racist, definitely stupid. He is an older guy, his influence his parents had on him is fairly obvious as people who lived through and endured the civil rights movement
