Ballin’: Warriors Beat the Heat, Bandwagon Begins to Fill Up
Golden State 97, Miami 95: Jarrett Jack to Draymond Green for the game-winner! Nice play drawn up by Mark Jackson. Clearly it was for Klay Thompson, but when Battier and Ray Allen both went to Thompson (27 points), Green rolled to the hoop and got a layup out of it. David Lee scored 22 points and took 13 rebounds, and Jack contributed 20 points off the bench for the 15-7 Warriors. Check out this elbow Wade caught in the kisser.
Boston 117, Dallas 115, 2 OT: Rajon Rondo narrowly missed a triple double (16 points, 15 assists, nine rebounds) and Paul Pierce added 34 points as the Celtics sent the lottery-bound Mavericks to defeat.
New Orleans 88, Oklahoma City 92: Is there a game where Russell Westbrook doesn’t pull off an athletic, jaw-dropping play? He only shot 4-of-14 but he can fly. Durant scored 35 for the Thunder, who have won nine straight. Austin Rivers watch: 12 points, but he’s only shooting 32 percent from the field.
Utah 99, San Antonio 96: Mo Williams, hero! Gordon Hayward (19 points, seven rebounds, six assists in 28 minutes), leaper!
Washington 93, Houston 99: James Harden showed the Wizards what might have been (31 points). Wizards rookie Bradley Beal did the same to Houston (20 points, six assists).
Phoenix 82, Memphis 80: The Grizzlies lost their third straight, and maybe now everyone will finally get off their jocks. Michael Beasley, because you care: 10 minutes, 11 shots, four points.
LA Clippers 100, Charlotte 94: Blake. Griffin.

Celtics Mavs overtime sessions were just the pitts, truly horrendous basketball.

Having a high basketball IQ is a seriously underrated attribute in the NBA.

underrated by who?
December 13th, 2012 at 11:16 AM
TCU third in Big 12. I am kinda leaning towards them being the favorite.

Michigan 20! Notre Dame 8….OSU 2

Horrendous job by Battier and Ray Allen. Defended that like highschoolers would

Haven’t really watched much — Memphis is better than Golden State right?
December 13th, 2012 at 11:18 AM
Amusing, considering that the EIC just yesterday referred to the Warriors as one of “his” teams.

Notice that WVU, which has become a perennial Top 25 team, is not even in the “Next in line” mentions.

Awesome sauce.

Was kinda hoping for a Bulls-76ers snippet. I only caught the first half. Probably their best win of the season so far.
Taking joy where I can find it this NBA season.

So a few spots better than ND’s 2012 preseason ranking.

They found out how tough things get when you move to the best conference in the country.

// for real though

Link?
So true. I really don’t enjoy watchign the Celtics play basketball. Enjoyed seeing Mayo do well, even though his turnovers were high. Glad to see him playing well with his chance to start
December 13th, 2012 at 11:26 AM
a team isn’t allowed to lose 3 straight in an 82 game season?
December 13th, 2012 at 11:29 AM
You new? I think he’s explicitly vowed to include “lottery-bound” every time he mentions the Mavs this year.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:30 AM
Chris Bosh blew that play, as Tim Legler pointed out.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:31 AM
I’m not “on their jocks”, but I am a big fan. Sabers at dawn, you knave!
Beat GSW earlier in the season. The Grizz aren’t as consistently good as OKC or the Spurs, but they have a real chance to be the 3-seed in the West. Once Rudy Gay stops hogging the ball (again), they will be fine offensively.

Balliln’ and half the talk is CFB…

Nobody crumbles into a heap easier than Dwayne Wade.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:37 AM
Loved the clip on Sportscenter this morning of Ben Hansbrough getting elbowed in the head by Thompson (inadvertently) and Tyler Hansbrough jumping in to defend his brother. Was just all kinds of awkward gangly white guy humor.
Also hilarious that the Cavs suffered a thirty point swing to lose.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:38 AM
The Wizards would be the last team to give Gilbert Arenas lite a maximum contract.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:40 AM
Mayo played very well last night. The Celtics will be lucky to get out of the first round, fuckkkkk
December 13th, 2012 at 11:41 AM
Strong 4/14 shooting performance from Rivers last night by the way.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:43 AM
Sadly, I had to check to see if that 28.6% shooting raised or lowered his season rate.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:47 AM
As long as they dont face Miami or the Knicks they should be fine. East is not deep at all. West on the other hand could be really tough. Right now Lakers best case scenario might be a 5 seed.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:50 AM
OJ Mayo is having one of the great “Most Improved” seasons ever.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:54 AM
He just needed to play. I think the talk about his defense from Memphis was just them rationalizing the fact that they were going to eventually let him go. They’re going to miss him, especially in the playoffs.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:54 AM
Draymond Green. way to get it done.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:55 AM
Dallas, on the other hand, once Dirk returns they’re going to be a problem.
December 13th, 2012 at 11:55 AM
The Sixers could be tough when they get Bynum back. Not worried about the Nets or Hawks. The Heat might sweep them
December 13th, 2012 at 12:01 PM
Bynum will never have it as good as he had it with the Lakers. He won’t have Kobe and Pau next to him which means he will be doubled more. Him being doubled is going to bog down Philly’s offense because he isn’t a good passer.
December 13th, 2012 at 12:02 PM
Dallas is doing a great job treading water without Dirk. I agree about Mayo needing to play. I think part of it was there werent enough shots to go around in Memphis with 4 other double-digit scorers.
December 13th, 2012 at 12:05 PM
Nah, just enjoy calling him out for that stuff
December 13th, 2012 at 4:58 PM
Grizz lost their second straight. The team must be a complete joke now because they lost 2 games in a row in the regular season…
