Stumbled into the Heineken Cup on TV a few years ago. That finale is a must-watch. I’m not a massive rugby fan, but that and the World Cup are incredible events to see.

there’s just so few people on the field in 7′s. It’s a small man’s game.

I love top level rugby though, so I’ll happily watch those NBC Sports Rugby 7′s tourney cutups.

might even force teams to adjust personnel. favor kicker accuracy over power? have the punter do the long stuff and kickoffs so the kicker can focus on skill shots? more euros?

i say lets gamble a lil…1 point for every 10 yards of distance.

I actually think this would be a cool strategic rule for American Football, if the point after came from spot where touchdown was actually touched down. Would make playcalling at goal line more strategic, and teams might go for two rather than kick extreme angle extra points.

Anything to eliminate the fade route.

“Extra points” are taken from the spot same latitude that the ball is touched down in the end zone…so it just makes for an easier kick.

Rugby isn’t an NCAA sanctioned sport, insurance for injuries comes through the rugby body rather than the school and NCAA, could not imagine coaches would be happy with their football players participating given the injury risk.

Meant football players with no eligibility/NFL prospects.

The 2-point kick after you score comes back from where you put the ball down. So the more in the middle the easier the angle for the kick.
