Is it that diff vs. league-wide? And by that logic, their QB drafting sucks.

Since the flukey Brady pick at 199, they have drafted 6 QBs. Two in the 3rd round (kevin oconnell, ryan mallett), one in the 4th (the immortal rohan davey) one in the 6th (kliff kingsbury) and two in the 7th (cassel, zack robinson).

You hit some, you miss some. BB just has such a rep/expectation that he gets more scrutiny. His drafting, especially since 2008, has been fine.

Yes it’s definitely a little more family friendly. But I had to share nonetheless.

Secondary picks have been beyond brutal.

Dunno how McCourty went from All-pro corner to nothing. The other guys just all get injured or suck. Butler and Wheatley both were brutal, but Butler was very highly regarded as a great pick, at the time.

Yes and no. In his defense, the Patriots don’t have time to sit and wait for skill guys (WR) to develop. He did have quite a few misses at TE before Gronk and Hernandez, but he evaluated Welker pretty well before trading for him. They have also been picking half a round later than every other team on average.

Understood, but look at the WRs they’ve drafted and let go. Literally none of them have done anything elsewhere in the league. That’s not a matter of development, that’s just poor drafting.

They’ve been better with the FA signings (Welker definitely, Moss and Lloyd to a point), but still have room to improve.
