Mike D’Antoni to Reporter (Probably T.J. Simers): “You’re starting to piss me off” [Video]
Mike D’Antoni has officially failed to turn the Lakers around. Tonight the Lakers lost to the Cavaliers. After the game, during Mike D’Antoni’s press conference, things got a little testy. As TWC SportsNet cut to break, D’Antoni was heard telling “a reporter from the LA Times, “You’re starting to piss me off.” Multiple tweets suggest it was T.J. Simers who was grilling D’Antoni on how much work the struggling Lakers are putting in.

so when does Phil Jackson take over?

Never. Even if he wanted it, the Busses wont cave unless daddy tells junior he can’t take the boat out for a weekend.

So, this clown get to play the wait until Steve Nash returns card? Nash isn’t going to solve their problems.

Irving would have gone for 40 instead of 28 with Nash playing his best impersonation of a traffic cone (with apologies to traffic cones everywhere).
This is just absolutely awesome.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Honest question? How long does this continue until Kobe ends up with season ending knee surgery to clean up some non-threatening stuff?

This season is going to be a slow long look at Kobe falling out of love with his childhood hero.

Lakers should trade Howard instead of Gasol. Horrible fit for their offense when he can’t even shoot a FT.

If D’Antoni falls on his face in NYC and now LA will anyone give him another look again?
December 11th, 2012 at 11:30 PM
If the Lakers trade away talent to get players to fit a gimmick offense, they deserve whatever ridicule they receive.

This isn’t a D’Antoni issue. The parts are incongruous, which is really ownership’s fault

Not the greatest start for D’Antoni. This team really needs to get their crap together and start playing with pride.

SC, I agree it’s more of a roster composition issue than coaching (same thing as when they fired Mike Brown), but if you have two high profile flameouts in the two biggest markets, I don’t think you can recover no matter how poorly constructed you can claim the roster is. Also, the post Knicks success after D’Antoni left doesn’t really help his cause. He wouldn’t adjust the system for Melo and now isn’t adjusting for Gasol who just floats around the free throw/3-point line (when he’s healthy).

dwight needs to attend the mason plumlee school of free throw shooting. OT, that makes me think of those old bill emanski’s baseball videos. Back to Back to Back championships! who would replace the CrimeDog as the celebrity endorser if they reshot them today?
/i’m all over the place

I agree D’Antoni is ineffective if he doesn’t have the permission and personnel to play his exact style. I’m mainly saying short of Phil Jackson, this team is not a coach away from being a threat, given the current injuries

D’Antoni is the Mike Martz of the NFL, all offense no defense. Every team has flaws. Good coaches devise schemes and plays to hide or minimize those deficiencies while maximizing talent. This dude comes up with excuses, and continues to throw players under the bus, whether it be Marbury, Anthony, or Pau.

Aren’t their problems on defense??
