It was a strange episode – keys didn’t break the window, but they didn’t use the point of the keys (if you “etch” a spot on the window with a key – deals with the tempering – and jam the tip of the key on that spot, the window will break). I’d assume the same is true for a screw driver. The Mythbusters episode used a window breaking tool and a springloaded centerpunch. Both broke the window.

the thing I watched was a long time ago, but if I recall they said to just put the screwdriver right in the middle and pop the back of it with your open palm and it shattered. I just don’t see myself being able to wait until the entire vehicle is submerged.

nightmare scenario is under water. supposed to wait until car submerges to roll down wndows but do the power windows work and will you keep cool if they do?
