Fantasy Football Playoffs, Week 15: Start ‘Em and Waiver Wire Starts With David Wilson
Here are preliminary rankings for week 15 playoffs, as we await more detailed injury information. I’ve marked an asterisk next to injury concerns that could affect starting status, and bolded guys who are more likely to be available as a free agent.
The number one free agent is David Wilson. I’ve got him ranked ahead of Bradshaw this week given how explosive he is, and how Bradshaw’s injury. This rank (#15 RB) assumes that Bradshaw plays and Wilson gets around half of the touches. If Bradshaw is ruled out, Wilson is the start of the week and becomes a top 10 option. I’ve currently got both in one league where I am in the semis, and pending further info coming out, plan on starting Wilson this week.
At wide receiver, the best free agent option is probably Jason Avant. Maclin is going to be on the injury report, and Avant has been a solid option anyway with DeSean Jackson already out. He projects as a solid WR3 this week.

I am still not over missing out on the playoffs. I won this week and was in a tie and ahead by 30pts but Zoni decided to aid the person I am tied with and he got 44pts out of his D. Up 30 and down 30 even though I beat the guy 2 times this year in the regular season. Bullshit.

jdeeser… right there with you, complete bullshit. Was playing first place guy in our league and had him beat until that game.
December 11th, 2012 at 8:11 PM
Jdeeser that does suck. So the tiebreaker was total points and not head to head? That is bullshit
December 11th, 2012 at 8:14 PM
Ya, the tie breaker was total points and he beat me by 30. I could have put any of my bench in and still would have lost. I asked why and there was no answer. The guy with the most fantasy points in the league, if we went by points alone and not head to head, was the guy who came in 7th place but only won 6 games. He didn’t understand the logic either.

I have been holding my tongue but this is the 2nd time it has happened to me. 1st time was in a TD only league and I was not the playoffs cause guy had more points. They changed the rule after the season but I didn’t participate in the league again.

I can’t believe people seriously compared Marcus Lattimore to Willis McGahee and Frank Gore. Lattimore was already on the slower side of ideal for an NFL RB before he got hurt the first time. Gore ran the fastest 40 time in Miami football history before he got hurt. McGahee was in the 4.3 range, too.
December 11th, 2012 at 8:20 PM
There only comparison between McGahee and Lattimore is that they both had severe knee injuries. I think the comparison stops there. I just don’t see him in the same conversation as Gore and McGahee.

Interesting that you have Moreno 8th, I’m deciding between DMC and Bryce Brown for my flex and haven’t even considered him. I just chalked up that Oakland game to him playing Oakland, did he actually look good?

Indians get Trevor Bauer and send Choo to Cinci.

Anyone see the line for the HOU/IND game on Sunday? HOU -8? Public will hit IND hard. TE blowout loss by the Texans on Monday nite and the IND Luck train rolling, they will grab those pts. Vegas sucking you in. HOU blows the, out, write it down

Lisk, did you accidentally leave out demarco murray in the RB rankings?
December 11th, 2012 at 10:40 PM
Peace Choo you non clutch Korean bastard. Good trade for the Tribe.

Using “total points for” as a tiebreaker in fantasy is the fairest way to do it. Better overall judge of each team’s talent, as it is the only aspect of fantasy that you, the owner, has any control over.
December 11th, 2012 at 10:49 PM
You know what I like as a way to determine your team’s strength or how you are.? CBS sports line used to offer three categories to se how strg your team was, total points overall, your collective record vs everyone for that week and your record itself. This was similar to roto baseball. I think that’s the best way to determine team strength
December 11th, 2012 at 10:54 PM
I was for implementing a point system in my league this year, but it was too progressive for my freinds. I just hate that luck is such a big factor in fantasy. In that league, the 1st and last place teams in terms of W-L record were within 1 point of one another, while the highest scoring team misses the playoffs on some bad beats.
The scoring system would be:
3 points per win
5 points for high scorer each week, 4.5 2nd high scorer….1 point 9th high scorer, 0 points for low scorer.
(8 points would be highest in a week)

What are we recommending as week 15/16 defenses?
I took a shot on WAS as they play (IMO) a relatively weak offensive schedule those two weeks. I have SEA as my primary but wanted a fallback in case both DBs were suspended throughout the end of the regular season.

Probably not. Garrett is too stupid to commit to running the ball, and the OL is so putrid in run-blocking that it wouldn’t matter anyway.
December 11th, 2012 at 11:26 PM
I picked up DET for this week to go against the dynamic duo of Skelton/Lindley.
December 11th, 2012 at 11:43 PM
Lisk, did you accidentally leave out demarco murray in the RB rankings?
Probably not. Garrett is too stupid to commit to running the ball, and the OL is so putrid in run-blocking that it wouldn’t matter anyway.
I hear ya, but that said, murray’s got a TD each of the last two weeks and has gotten a respectable number of carries each week. With our scoring he put up 15 and 12 respectively. Lisk making an error in his treasured charts would shock me more that garrett finally committing to the running game.

Turned around an 0-4 start to finish the season 8-5 and win my first playoff game.
