Ballin’: Amir Johnson Fights Referee for the Ball, Then Throws His Mouthpiece at Him
Portland 92, Toronto 74: Amir Johnson lost his damn mind, and will probably be fined and suspended. At the :16 mark, you can even see his teammate, DeMar DeRozan, mouth, “what are you doing?” before it gets ugly. (Johnson quickly apologized.) We mocked Toronto for giving Johnson $32 million a couple years ago, and the franchise has made few wise decisions since. They’re 4-18.
Golden State 104, Charlotte 96: That’s four in a row for my Warriors who got 25 from David Lee, and 27-7-7 from Stephen Curry to improve to 14-7. This a good time to pimp our offseason Q&A with Curry? Worth noting: When Andrew Bogut returns fro injury, this team will be a solid 9-deep. Remember when the Bobcats were playing well? It all ended with that 45-point bloodbath in OKC last month. They haven’t won a game since – eight losses in a row, with the Clippers up next.
Philadelphia 104, Detroit 97: Jrue Holiday continues to impress – 25 points, eight assists, and Evan Turner nearly had a triple double with 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, and the 76ers are tied with Brooklyn for 2nd in the Atlantic, 3.5 games back of New York.
Miami 101, Atlanta 92: This was billed as the battle of the Southeast division, but if anyone thinks the Hawks are actually on the same level as the Heat … well … 26 for Wade, 27 for LeBron. Nice dunk-back with the left, playa.
Houston 126, San Antonio 134: The Rockets played extremely well without James Harden (ankle), with Jeremy Lin carrying them to the tune of 38 points and seven assists. Too bad Tony Parker had his first career triple-double (27 points, 12 assists, 12 rebounds) and Gary Neal made seven 3-pointers.
Dallas 119, Sacramento 96: The lottery-bound Mavs won their third straight, as six players scored in double figures, led by OJ Mayo’s 19. Mayo, with nobody else around, is having the best season of his career – 20.8 ppg and he’s shooting 53 percent from deep. He hasn’t played with this kind of confidence since he was dominating in high school.

Lebron seems like he would be a pussy when it comes to fighting, plus Chuck has got that “old man strength” now.

Curry/Thompson/Lee have been incredible the past few weeks. And Carl Landry is great off the bench.

chuck would win when he hits him with a full can of nutrisystem

Jmac, wouldnt count on Bogut for anything with his health… So your teams are the Clippers, Warriors, and Knicks?
December 11th, 2012 at 12:01 PM
Lin defers to other guys too often. For two guys with supposedly high basketball IQs, I can see it taking a while for Harden and Lin to co-exist
December 11th, 2012 at 12:05 PM
Absolutely. Curry and Lee play so well off each other.
I’m sick of Curry getting criticized for not being a true PG. His vision and ballhandling is fine, I think he just needs to get stronger so that his passes are crisper and it’s harder to rip the ball from him. But he has better than average PG instincts.

WARRIORS!
love them. just hope they avoid the Clippers/Grizz in 1st round. i think they can handle denver … interested to see San Antonio matchup
December 11th, 2012 at 12:11 PM
I guess Mark Jackson can coach afterall.
December 11th, 2012 at 12:12 PM
JMac, how many teams are “my” teams for you? I’ve noticed the Paper Clips, the Knicks, and now the Warriors. Or do you really just pull for the Knicks and enjoy watching the others?
December 11th, 2012 at 12:14 PM
jmac: are you questioning my fanhood?
FI: does your fanhood need questioning?

Used to like the Lakers, too.
/yesterday’s, or yester-yesterday’d, I forget
December 11th, 2012 at 12:21 PM
Lol. It’d probably go as well as the Clippers/Spurs matchup last year.
December 11th, 2012 at 12:42 PM
Not really. Same as last year – Mike Malone does the actual coaching. Mark Jackson’s there to yell motivational stuff like “hand down, man down!” among other nonsensicals.

Cheating on your Knicks? I call that high infidelity…
December 11th, 2012 at 1:42 PM
Is anybody buying the Warriors to get out of the first round? I most certainly am not
December 11th, 2012 at 1:45 PM
Good point. TBL’s readership is not exactly rabidly pro-NBA I’ve discovered
December 11th, 2012 at 4:16 PM
The Warriors are dumb. I can’t believe they hired a guy with a head coach attached to him when all they had to do was hire the attached head coach and save themselves some money.
