Anyone who works for any network, right down to your local access channel is a company man. He’s alright with me. He does what he does well and doesn’t take himself seriously. I’ll take that over the obnoxious being disguised as funny or “real” schtick anytime, especially in the morning.

People have such a stick up their asses about ESPN, it becomes comical. There was nothing wrong with the cartoons in the show, because it spoke to the near mythical level of some of his exploits being attested to by those who witnessed them. This was set up beautifully by Klosterman’s statements in the beginning about Bo being the last pre information age hero. Fucking Mike Greenberg was working as a reporter in Chicago during the time Bo played for the Sox, so it wasn’t like he wasn’t a witness to a portion of the Bo Jackson story.

Speaking of despicable “journalists”, Mark Schwartz comes on ESPN in the background moments later. ESPN! Where you can be a horrific reporter and have a job, as long as you aren’t involved in a scandal that has nothing to do with your career whatsoever!!!

Yup. Opinions of Fischer aside, the pompousness of Schaap’s questioning and narration in that piece was despicable for a “journalist”

The Heisman ceremony ran long before it.
The end was Bo making arrows & shooting his bow, talking about all he wants on his gravestone is “Here lies a ballplayer who gave as much as he received.” The End.

I agree with this. I didn’t need to see Greenberg or the cartoon crap, but I thought the coach interviews and Bo making arrows really added to the whole deal.
