They only take into consideration the votes of regular users though, and it has close to a million votes. It’s a flawed system, but the overexposure of that movie thanks to TNT really inflates its value.

Completely agree. But I don’t think, based on that one metric, it’s fair to say that the movie is overrated. It IS fair to say that it’s overrated by the mouth breathers on IMDB though.

Has anyone tried to make this argument? Shawshank is a fantastic movie and I think is rated quite properly. But I think most people realize that Pulp Fiction, which continues to hold up very well going on 19 years after it came out, is a top 20 all time movie.

I met someone recently who though yellow fin tuna was dolphin and that “dolphin free tuna” was albacore.

Yesterday I asked a girl working at Lowe’s if the net-style Christmas lights are dolphin safe. She’s pretty sure they are.
