Former Heisman Winner Jason White Put Landry Jones on His Ballot, But Not Johnny Manziel
Jason White once won the Heisman Trophy over Larry Fitzgerald and Eli Manning. He also split the vote the next year with his freshman running back Adrian Peterson. He should be thankful that he was surrounded by so many truly great players and came away with some hardware. In one of the most bizarre ballots out there, White completely left off Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M, who is expected to be the favorite entering Saturday’s ceremony.
Who did he put on instead? None other than Landry Jones.
Landry Jones- 3989 yards (7.9 YPA), 29 TD, 10 INT, 13 “rushes” for -103 yards
Johnny Manziel- 3419 yards (8.5 YPA) 24 TD, 9 INT, 184 rushes for 1181 yards, 19 TD
Oklahoma quarterbacks have to stick together, I guess.

If we remove rushing stats like we do with RG3 for NFL mvp it seems fair.

I can’t muster any outrage. Hopefully, Gino Torretta put Duke Johnson on his ballot. I would have

So what?
December 7th, 2012 at 4:49 PM
Maybe Jason White is following Thayer Evans lead and not voting for a guy with pending criminal charges.

So what?
He’s a jackass homer, which is infinitely hatable.

So what? So let’s dance!

Jason White, probably just thinks Manziel projects as a defensive back at the next level.
December 7th, 2012 at 4:54 PM
This has to be what everyone who comments at this site is rooting for, right? For him to get drafted as a DB would be hilarious.

Good for Jason White to get his name in the news. I hadn’t heard his name in several years.
December 7th, 2012 at 4:57 PM
Question: how much of what Manziel has done this year can be ascribed to luck? In other words, what are the odds that he reproduces this performance next season?

If you’d been here a couple of days ago late in the day you would have seen me confuse him for Josh Heupel.

Question:
how much of what Manziel has done this year can be ascribed to luck? Not much
In other words, what are the odds that he reproduces this performance next season?Pretty high
/depends if he keeps his head on straight and keeps working

I love how one of the related videos is the entire Three Amigos! movie.

stiffarmtrophy.com already projecting that Manziel will win with sixth or seventh largest margin ever.

Squawk said this to a sideline reporter while jogging into the locker room.
He also needs to make sure that he continues to execute.

Hey, White killed two birds with one stone. I hadn’t heard Heupel’s name in years.

He featured prominently in a HeismanPundit from this morning or yesterday post about freshman and the Heisman because he screwed up Adrian Peterson’s chance at the award.

Joe Namath.

Gotta get off the field on 3rd down

Gotta be a leader on and off the field, too.

so the Heisman doesn’t tell us much about who is the best football player in America
In one of the most bizarre ballots out there, White completely left off Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M
ZOMG, he didn’t vote for the guy I think is going to win the award that doesn’t tell us who the best player in America is!!!!!!111111!!!!!!!!

Turnovers.
December 7th, 2012 at 5:22 PM
The funny thing is, White won the Heisman that Heupel deserved.
December 7th, 2012 at 5:23 PM
The really funny thing is that you think Heupel deserved to win a Heisman.
December 7th, 2012 at 5:23 PM
Need to establish a running game, bring some balance to the offense
December 7th, 2012 at 5:30 PM
The really funny thing is that you think Heupel deserved to win a Heisman.
Well, Weinke won it that year so it’s not like Heupel would have been worse than what actually happened. LdT should have won it, though
December 7th, 2012 at 5:41 PM
Doesn’t matter. LeBatards dad has a vote. The Heisman is 100% useless.
December 7th, 2012 at 5:48 PM
Man…when did LeBatard’s dad win it?
December 7th, 2012 at 5:50 PM
It wasn’t luck this season, but he’s going to need some next year. His O-line is either the best or second best in the country and will have two top 10 picks (maybe even top 5) and the center could also go in the first 3 rounds. I would say the chances of him putting up the same gaudy stats next year with no Swope, losing 3 linemen, and the SEC already playing him once are zero.
December 7th, 2012 at 5:54 PM
Man…when did LeBatard’s dad win it?
Ha. It’s mostly media members. There’s like 6,000-something votes. There aren’t that many Heisman winners
