If a deal was signed by the end of the weekend. A 50-60 game schedule is possible with games perhaps starting on Christmas. From here it looks like either the Union will decertify or make a last ditch effort to try and beg for forgiveness and sign the NHL’s last proposal. I don’t know if that’s feasible though. It will all depend on if the NHL backs off saying everything introduced this week is off the table. Allegedly, the players were ready to sign on Tuesday but Fehr told them to continue to hold out because they could get more.

Tonight and the previous few nights have been the craziest sports labor battle/discussion whatever in the history of sports. It’s a damn shame there has been barely any coverage about it. So many ups and downs. And Gary Bettman delivered perhaps the most impassioned and impressive press conference I can remember. Hopefully, it looks like the players may be cracking and this can be resolved soon. I doubt it will happen but it would be great to see a couple posts about what has occurred the past couple days on this site.

Wanna know something funny, KC? It took 9 months for these people to realize how much of a fucking favor I do for them. Everyone always wanted to know why I'm the only one with a set schedule. I negotiated that. I work every weekend in exchange for the same 2 consecutive days off every week. I went on vacation for 12 days, which meant they didn't get to rotate their weekends. All the other night shift people had to be here while I was gone, whereas they normally get every other weekend off. Fuckers.

No, the early withdrawal penalty and associated income tax is only imposed if you take the money out of the account. If you invest it unwisely and it loses value, there is no associated penalty or income tax.

I know you get penalized tax wise and all that if you close out a retirement account before you’re old enough to retire. If you put it all in higher risk and just flat out lose it, would you get penalized the same as if you had just closed it? I have a retirement account that got set up at another job and was thinking about dropping it all in higher risk portfolios, because in its present state it’s going up by like $1.33 every quarter. I have it in the lowest risk, guaranteed portfolio.
