Ballin’: Lakers Poop Big Boy Pants, Lose; Ian Eagle Screams, “Foreign Facial” on Ibaka Dunk
Washington 105, Miami 101: The Wizards … won? Against the mighty Heat? Despite a LeBron triple double (26 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists)? Washington’s bench scored 64 points, the team had 31 assists on 38 baskets, and now they’re 2-13. LeBron missed two three pointers in the final minute. This obviously has to do with Miami’s WILD NIGHT of partying in DC Monday.
LA Lakers 105, Houston 107: The Lakers are now 8-10, partially because Dwight Howard missed another five free throws in the 4th, and also because LA “popped their big boy pants” and missed three shots in the closing seconds.
Kobe scored 39 (on 31 shots), but LA was done in my the Rockets’ strong bench (Delfino 15 points, Douglas 22 points, Greg Smith 21 points).
Indiana 80, Chicago 76: Paul George had the best game of his career – 34 points, nine rebounds – and two impressive highlights as the Pacers got back to .500 (9-9). It sounds like Derrick Rose will be practicing by month’s end, so maybe he’ll be back on the court by mid-January, instead of the All-Star break? I’m not sure what the rush is …
Minnesota 105, Philadelphia 88: Ugly home loss for the 76ers, who shot 5-of-20 from deep while the Timberwolves made 13 from behind the arc. Seven Minnesota players were in double figures, led by 17 from Alexey Shved, the first year guard from Russia.
Oklahoma City 117, Brooklyn 111: Ian Eagle – “a foreign facial!” Splendid alliteration, Ian. The Thunder shot 60 percent from the field, 50 percent on 3-pointers, and 88 percent from the line. So what if they gave up 16 offensive rebounds to the Nets while only collecting two? Durant scored 32 (12-for-12 on FTs), Westbrook added 25. The Thunder have won six straight and are 15-4.

Strong performance from Harden, fifteen percent from the field.
So where is Gasol going to end up getting dealt?
December 5th, 2012 at 11:29 AM
Worse than Gus Johnson. He literally won’t stop screaming during Nets games.

You don’t like Gus Johnson? According to TBL you’re clueless. According to his twtitter followers you’re a racist, a moron, and a fag.

Gasol for Illyasova? Both underperforming. Lakers get a stretch 4, Bucks get a Center.

Not a dunk.

Right now for the Lakers, Kobe is averaging 8 more shots a game than Howard, Artest is averaging 35.6 minutes and 10 shots a game (at a brisk 41% FG), and combined, Jamison/Hill/Meeks/Morris/Duhon are averaging less than Kobe is averaging a game (27.7 to 27.9).
This is not a deep playoff team. They’ll get better if Nash can get back in there and be effective, but that bench is just going to kill them down the stretch. Forget Pau for Josh Smith or Amare deals, at this point if I’m the Lakers, I think I’d dump him for a few role players.

Sometimes all I want in the world is Franceska Jaimes, sometimes she repulses me. I don’t understand myself.

The linked article says he “is not close to being able to practice” and Thibs said, “He’s a long ways from that.”

So is it still too early to commend the Knicks for letting Lin go? He wasn’t even in the game down the stretch.
December 5th, 2012 at 11:37 AM
They’ll be even worse on defense when Nash is back. I will be pants shittingly shocked if they win five games in the playoffs.

are we waiting on CBS’ reaction?

Despite Lin looking like a bust the Rockets are exceeding expectations. My only futures bet this year was over 30.5 on them. Looking like a winner, hopefully.

Simmons was floating a Gasol for Josh Smith deal.
I don’t think they’d trade him in division, but Sacramento would be good for Jason Thompson and a couple other guys to help fill out their terrible bench.
I’d like to see him in Portland as he and Aldridge would be great together. But I don’t think Portland has anything they’d be willing to give up. Maybe bring in a 3rd team.

The guy needs to start finishing at the rim more. He almost always kicks it out after the drive, which I think he needs to do less of and Harden needs to do more of. His scoop-layup-to-draw-the-foul is becoming a tad predictable.

Lol.

Good to see Howard being exposed. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy…

In other games, Zach Randolph went 38-22 in a Grizzlies’ OT win over Phoenix. Gonna have to deal with ‘em eventually, y’all.
