But the Steelers have this romanticism with hard running guys, I’m not saying I like it, I’m just saying there is a history there is all. It isn’t an either/or proposition, you can have more balance and still get big plays. I think Arians as an OC gets too wrapped up in in swinging for the fences to the detriment of the offense as a whole. I think now that he is acting as the HC, he is getting better perspective of the big picture.

It’s partly media, partly ownership. The Rooney’s have always prioritized defense, so the running game is a natural compliment. Also, Pittsburgh fits the smashmouth narrative better than the flashy Cowboys. There has long been an obsession with Cowboy qbs too.
