Dutch Soccer Linesman is Dead After Being Beaten By Players After Youth Match
A Dutch linesman, Richard Nieuwenhuizen, died today after sustaining a severe beating after a youth match on Sunday. Players from the Amsterdam-based club Nieuw Sloten attacked him after the match with Buitenboys. The linesman was kicked in the head, collapsed and brought to the hospital.
Three players, with ages ranging from 15-16 years old, were arrested Sunday night. Nieuw Sloten banned all players involved in the beating and removed itself from the league.

Terribly sad. It’s surprising to me that stuff like this doesn’t happen more over here–usually it’s the parents, not the kids.

Sounds like the three kids are someone to root for.

Man, sometimes it gets so hard being a fan of this sports. Obviously violent clashes occur on every sports, but soccer violence is on a whole another level. Just disgusting.

If these kids didn’t have access to feet, that ref would still be alive.

I thought it had something to do with Sandusky.

In soccer, this is referred to as “Murder”.

Good job. Good effort.
I witnessed this at a tournament with a bunch of rich mexican HS kids. And I was working security.
Kid thought the ref mad a bad call so he jump-kicked the ref in the chest. Chaos ensued and we had to wrestle a couple of kids to the ground. The ref was nice enough not to press charges if the kids were sent directly to the airport and sent home. Their parents refused, so they were arrested. I laughed.

I want to meet them in Champions League knockout stage. Just want to humiliate those fuckers in front of a global audience.

And this shows you that their culture and values can never mesh with western values. Oh wait? These were white guys who did this? Oh then, they are mentally ill. Nevermind.

What color card do they use for murder in soccer?

Losing Badstuber isn’t going to help things, but man that would be the best knockout matchup of recent history by far. That was a fucking brutal injury to watch live.
Alaba is going to be the best left back in the world this time next year.

I used to ref to scout out prospects for my select club teams…worst situation ever was reffing a game between 2 Christian high schools…those parents and coaches were certifiable….

Such a shame. I saw parents completely intimidate, curse and scare the living daylights out of three refs in U13 boys soccer not more than a month ago in Maryland. Crazy people all over the place.
