Jovan Belcher Shot the Mother of His Baby Nine Times, Police Say

Jovan Belcher, the Kansas City Chiefs linebacker who committed murder Saturday, then turned the gun on himself, shot the mother of his baby nine times, police say.

Kansas City police now telling KC media members that Jovan Belcher shot his girlfriend NINE times — all in front of his mother.

In a little over 24 hours, details have begun to trickle out:

* His girlfriend went to a Trey Songz concert Friday, came home late, and the two fought
* Belcher shot her at 8 am
* He then drove to the team facility, said thank you to coaches in the parking lot, then put a gun to his head and blew his brains out.

I find it interesting that she calls 911 and none of the news article states that she told officials that it was her son that shot Kassandra. I wonder if there was pressure from his mom. She moving in might have made relations more strained. He seemed to idolize his mother and I wonder if he expected too much of Kassandra. I am sure he was a great person and I feel for his situation, but looking at his background makes me think that he grew up in tough circumstances. He probably had a lot of psychological issues that his family won’t admit. He probably kept to himself all his stresses and was very proud and possessive. He probably didn’t like how he could not control everything Kassandra did and when he felt he lost control… he lost his temper
