uhhh, why would we want the Redskins to lose so we can be 1 game ahead for 2nd place but fall 2 games behind for first place when we still play Washington heads up? Dallas wants Washington and Philly to beat the Giants and then fall off a cliff. 2nd place doesn’t meant anything.

Logic dictates he only has a few more years of coaching prime left. I’d be surprised if he wasted it all in the minor leagues. How many titles does he have to win with superior talent before deciding to step up to pure coaching? For an X’s and O’s guru like Saban, it has to be difficult to accept that his major success has been the byproduct of recruiting and player development.

It’s the safe play. However, I’ve noticed a mellowing in his demeanor the last couple, and especially this year. Theoretically, the challenge of the pro game is the main appeal, considering he has mastered the college game. Does he really want to spend his sixties with bullshit, like recruiting and schmoozing with boosters?

True, but I feel like it’s a such a high upside job. They’ve been so bad for so long that he can be a savior, like he is viewed in Alabama, if things go well. What other NFL chances are there? He’d be a madman to work for Jones. I don’t see him going to San Diego, Carolina, Tennessee, Buffalo, Oakland, Kansas City, or Arizona. Detroit is really the only other spot that makes any sense to me.
