It was alright. Just hung out with family. I skipped bear hunting this year since I missed the first day. I wasn’t paying 150 bucks for a non-resident license to only hunt 1 or 2 days of it. I’ve been back for a few days, been too swamped at work (surprisingly) to get on here much.

They’ve had us helping the mail room people, sorting out returned mail into 2 piles-1 with barcodes 1 without. You want to talk about some boring ass repetitive shit that will turn your brain into soup. There was 120,000 pieces of mail stacked up, and some of that shit had been backed up since the first week of July. Makes you wonder what took the 2 people who work in the mail so fucking long to ask for help. They can’t tell me it took 5 months to realize they weren’t going to get caught up.

Speaking of money, don’t know if anyone saw where I commented about the taxidermist finishing my fish and not telling me. I finally got a hold of him on my break today, and he told me he had finished it but has been too busy to call me and that he wanted to display it. Told him I would go pick it up tomorrow. I still owe him $120, so I’m debating on waiting till Monday to pick it up instead that way the bank will be open. Not because I don’t have the money on me. But because I want to turn my greenbacks into red lincolns, and dump that shit on his fucking counter. Asshole.

i know what you mean about the technology, but a lot of the stuff i have laying around are ones that use mini-DV tapes that take some time to get from camera to computer as opposed to stuff where you record it, attach the plug from the camera to the computer, and copy the file.

Finally saw Skyfall today. Generally I thought it was really good, but I loved the ending and tying everything back to the “old” roots, including the set in M’s office with the coatrack, the leather covered door, etc.
I did get really pissed when the Aston Martin showed up, because it reminded me of the biggest fight my wife/I ever had. I had this sweet ass (and expensive) working model (and by working, I mean the ejector seat worked, the license plate rotated, etc.) of the car from its Goldfinger debut. My wife’s cat knocked it off our fireplace mantle one night where the car met its death on the tile from below. The cat was lucky it made it through the night.

Agree – after all the reviews I read I really made sure I tempered my expectations. Some of the lighting/cinematography was astounding (the whole sniper scene in Shanghai in particular). Probably top 5 Bond movie, but not the best of all time (still Goldfinger IMHO).

dont worry, especially if you mean the red/white cans. i’m pretty much all in on stuff from Two Brothers and drinking at Taphouse Grill’s with the stuff on tap that’s like 9% Double IPA. The problem is i go to weddings and parties in the country where the choice is Coors or Bud Light. They all hate Miller products out here btw. Sorta funny. Not sure if you experienced that in rural IL before.

two brothers..i live 2 miles form their original brewery/restaurant. i remember when they started, one of the only places you could find them was on tap at cougars games
they bought the old Payton;s roundhouse in aurora for a second restaurant. i recommend it for you and missus, but wait until warm weather when they have outdoor live music

editing software-if you have a PC, you probably have Windows Live or Windows Movie Maker on there already. would work for his age without any cost. if he is just starting that will do. if it’s a Mac, iMovie is either there or costs less than 100 and would be perfect.

that’s the thing i think i can help you with. now that this got all serious, give me a day or two and i’ll find the right balance between free, “collateral damage” aka no one will notice it is gone, and advanced enough tech-wise that it’s easy and your kid is learning something.
