Plasma donation is a funky process. The blood comes out and fills up this series of tubes and goes through centrifuges that separate the plasma, which is clear, then the red blood cells are put back into your vein. Chased with a liter of saline, which let me tell you, is the oddest sensation I’ve ever experienced. It’s the ultimate York Peppermint Paddy feeling.
