You can edit out the stupidness of the third round comment, Monk, but leaving in the “relatively unknown” is just as bad. Flacco was on Kiper’s big board and was predicted to go in the end of the first round. He was a massive talent coming into the draft. Outside of Tom Brady retiring, there is no combination of moves that is going to let this Jets team win the division. They have a terrible QB situation, they are aging, and have no elite skill position players on offense. Their defense might sustain them for a year or so to a wild card birth. Time to nuke it and start over.

I am pretty sure DeCosta and Whaley are locked in as eventual successors. Since you want to keep most of the coaching staff, and are assuming Tannenbaum sticks around, why not just promote Cohen since he is more of a personnel guy?

What the Jets really need isn’t better drafting, its more drafting. A lot of their roster ills are from trading away draft picks for players and/or moving up in the draft. In a 5 year span before this draft the had 23 picks. Hard to fill holes with UDFA.

Boffo, indeed. There isn’t a single one that says whether they have a good chance or not. But I do like the idea of making Tannenbaum a “cap guy” after he screwed up the cap situation in New York in the first place.
