Yesterday was wonderful for me. It was my birthday. No work, Notre Dame is playing for a BCS title and Denver, for all intents and purposes, clinched the division. A great day indeed.

Wife had a c-section when we had our twins. I looked around the curtain just as they were pulling what looked like a pot roast out and putting it back in. That was enough for me.

But as Dirt or Cleet mentioned above, that hour or so when you are with your newborns and unsure about how your wife is doing is terrifyingly joyful.

CJ – I would recommend taking full advantage of modern medicine and its opiates.

there were lots of hard parts, but for me, the hardest part was being back upstairs with the brand new baby, and having to wait a whole hour for them to finish with the wife in surgery.
You hold the baby, and get to think for one hour about dead wife/live baby problems, while the kid tries to find your nipple

Had a similar experience. And to make matters worse, after the doc got my daughter out and gave her to the neonatal nurses, they couldn’t get her to breathe. We allowed my father in law to be there for the emergency c-section since he is a neonatologist. He had to jump in and get my daughter to breathe. In real time it probably wasn’t that long that she wasn’t breathing, but it seemed like an eternity. I did feel better when everyone in the room (including my FIL) LOLed at me when I asked if there would be any permanent brain damage. I guess that’s a no? Cool. Now I can go back to worrying about my wife dying.

So what’s the basis for getting an actual partial, does just one AP writer have to vote you number one or do you have to be one in the AP poll to counteract the BCS champion?

Duffy said it could still be a play, but they don’t have any first place votes and are still behind the three teams capable of playing for the title and Bama/UGA will have two wins more impressive than any OSU has this season after OSU stops playing so it makes no sense to jump them.
