It could work, if you’re a) willing to wait a while longer, and b) set up yet another character re-boot to build acceptance of Levitt in the role.

I’d watch a JLA movie, but you got a lot of characters to develop first. Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, maybe one of Martian Manhunter/Atom/Green Arrow. And, re-tool Supes, Batman, GL.

Re: penalties. I’m probably more anti spot foul on PI than anyone. Partly because the nature of the rule assumes the ball will be caught, and partly because NFL officials rarely exercise discretion when throwing the flag (often because of pressure from the league office). And don’t get me started on how officials don’t even consider the phrase “uncatchable ball” anymore. 15 yards and a free first down is enough.

All that said, the PK is more crucial to a game. Huge conversion percentage, massive impact on the outcome, frequently subjective. Soccer needs more officials on the field as well to ensure they have the eyes in place to determine what’s a flop and what’s a true PK.

Here’s where I disagree with that assessment. I used to love (repeat, LOVE) watching sumo wrestling and roller hockey and paintball when it aired on ESPN or ESPN 2. But I probably wouldn’t read anything about them.

NFL needs to think about making it 15 yards and a first down, which i used to be against, but cripes, this is epidemic.

the pne against wingfield v. marshall was brutal. marshall abused him. PIs in the EZ are as bad or worse than the 50-yarders. 3rd and goal from the 9? how’s about a first and goal from the 1?

if they could filter it by the possibility of the ball being caught, i’d be more agreeable to severe yardage, but the infraction itself doesn;t always clearly obstruct

i think what frosts people most is the jumping on/blowing media darlings they’ve created, lowest common denominator, seeming east-coast bias coverage. especially at the expense of other athletes/teams doing as well or better.

manti te’o/julius jones and two or three other defensive players is just a latest example

At least it was a PI. Seems about a third of the time now there isn’t any contact worth mentioning. NFL needs to think about making it 15 yards and a first down, which i used to be against, but cripes, this is epidemic.
