Dallas Mavericks Announcer Strongly Objects to Kobe’s Use of Dirk’s Signature Move

Kobe Bryant seems to rub people the wrong way even when he’s not trying to. During the Lakers 115-89 victory over the Mavericks Saturday, Kobe used Dirk Nowitzki’s trademark one leg fadeaway shot, infuriating the Mavericks’ color analyst:

Don’t do that in in here. Don’t do that in this building.

Hometown announcers have always bothered me. If I wanted to listen to a fan reaction to the game, I’d go to a bar or better yet the actual game. The Mavericks’ announcer seems to think Dirk is the only person allowed to do this move in the arena. I guess Kareem Adul-Jabbar should get a check from anyone that uses the hook shot in Staples. But you’ve got to love the hometown guys – they know how to appease the locals. He might as well have yelled “Kobe sucks” while he was at it.

I was going to bring Ballin up some day. Not that I care, but something I noticed. TBL axed Yardwok and Onion Bag due to low numbers yet Ballin can’t be getting that many. Once again, it isn’t that I care. I don’t follow MLB or NBA or Soccer. It is just very noticeable.

I thought Kent St/NIU were a lock with a Boise loss? they only have to be ahead of any AQ champ, and I don’t think there’s any chance that the Big East champ leapfrogs them.

I think there’s a chance, that the voting collective gets indignant about this and all downgrade their polling places for the MAC team to prevent this from happening. I havent analyzed it enough. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Next time Dirk does that move in Salt Lake City, I’ll be listening out for the Dallas announcer to decry using Karl Malone’s move in his old house.

They could have used that money they spent on Lin for a PG that is going to help them in the playoffs. Harden is going to be worn out by the end of the year carrying the primary ball handling and scoring load.
