I think we over-estimate the location of college teams. If you are involved with any kind of sport, theater, etc. on a scholarship you do not have any time to enjoy the atmosphere. All of your free time belongs to the program if you want to see the field.

I get the living in LA part completely. But playing for Lane Kiffin negates any potential net positive. And as best I can tell USC fans didn’t even like him because of the turnovers. And he’s barely played the 2nd half of the year.

He’ll be an insignificant fart on an average USC team…or he could have been roasted as a king and been remembered forever. Zwinak (3rd string fullback) ran for 1000+ yards in BOB’s offense; think what Redd’s talent could/should have done.

And killed his potential draft positioning as well. He was a 2nd/3rd rd talent at the beginning of the year, now he’ll be lucky to be picked in the 5th. That negates the positive of living in LA and playing meaningful games.
