Disagree. Earlier in the period, the Texans did what you suggested and proceeded to lose 6 yards. Hanson normally makes 47 yarders. This one bounced off the upright. It was something Schwartz actually did right.

That’s just wrong. It wasn’t a 35 yarder being pushed to 41. It was a 47 yarder with an extra down to get the ball closer. So Schwartz would have been correct to kick a 53 yarder on 3rd and 11 because Hanson “nomally” makes those? All NFL kickers “normally” make a majority of kicks.

So you kick a 47 yarder when you have another play? That makes sense. What if Leshoure broke a 30 yard run on 3rd and 11? What if, what if, what if.

I still can’t believe coaches kick field goals on 1st down. The Houston offense has Arian F’ing Foster and they kick a 30 yard field goal instead of trying to just get it into the end zone. Don’t get it. If you’re that worried about a botch snap and what not kick it on 3rd. If you’re worried about a botched snap you probably shouldn’t be kicking it to begin with.
