James Franklin: Vanderbilt Football Culture Change Encapsulated in One Awesome Video
Vanderbilt made an official video, commemorating their 41-18 win over Tennessee, their first since 2005 and first at home since 1982. Maryland, you kicked this guy to the curb to hire Randy Edsall. If Vandy does not make it Ferentz expensive to buy Franklin out, they are doing it wrong.

Painful to watch as a Maryland fan. But at the same time, I don’t think anyone saw him being this good. He was a bad OC at Maryland. With that said, obviously wish he was still in CP.

Loved that video. Makes me miss older Hard Knocks.

“We’re on the beach right now, and the boats are burning…”
Dang, Vandy brought some heat that night.

Where does Edsall leaving Uconn rank among worst coaching decisions of the last five years? Almost a completely lateral move program wise, but a sure step back considering how revered he was for building Uconn from the ground up.

Well behind RichRod to Michigan.

RichRod from RichRod’s point of view made sense, even if a lot of Michigan folks were never going to support him because of his scary, modern offense. Of course he acted like a jerk and overall sucked, but I can’t blame RichRod for leaving his alma mater to take a top ten job.

That whole on the beach and the boats are burning part made me want to run through walls.

The original question delt with “worst coaching decision”, thus he made a bad one. Go back five years and ask him if and with he’d rather still be at WV or Arizona, and I think we all know the answer.
Oh, and the “scary” offense didn’t bother anyone. The horrific “D” and lack of ability to kiss asses of seven and eight figure donors did.

Only thing missing from that vid was “clear eyes, full hearts”

Not really.
In a year when the SEC is way down (especially the west), this is the season they were supposed to have. I watched a couple of their games and he made some bone-headed calls. And I mean individual calls bad enough to lose/swing games. Their schedule was perfectly weak enough to get 10 wins and they’ll get 8.
He’ll survive maybe 4 years there. Better than Edsell? Sure, but that’s not saying much.

And oh yeah – I heard from a Vandy guy (who is not of any substance or authority) that they’ve been contacted by the b1g.
So yeah, I’m starting the rumor right here.
