Patriots at Jets: Will New England Make it 4 in a Row Against New York?
This was the last time the Jets beat the Patriots. January 16, 2011. Jerricho Cotchery, Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes were celebrating on the bench late during a memorable 28-21 playoff win on the road.
(As a Jets fan since 1986ish, I’d say it was the best win I’ve experienced as a fan of this woebegone franchise.)
Since then, here’s the combined score of the three meetings between the teams: 96-63. The Patriots are favored by a touchdown tonight.
Now, briefly, let’s play the what if game!
What if Stephen Hill catches a simple 1st down pass in the 4th quarter of the team’s first meeting this year, with the game tied at 23? The Jets take three kneel downs, then kick the game-winner and pull off the upset. Hill dropped the pass, the Jets kicked a field goal, but left enough time for Tom Brady to drive the Patriots down the field to tie the game. (New York lost in overtime after Mark Sanchez fumbled.)
If Hill catches that pass, the Jets could be 5-5 and the Patriots could be 6-4 and this game could be for 1st place in the AFC East.
Back in reality … the Patriots have lost three games by four points, and have a +133 scoring margin, by far highest in the NFL. New England is the superior team, and should win. The pick: Patriots 30, Jets 17.

Not betting on this game. Looking to TEX -7.5 vs TCU. TCU looking strong s far. TEX defense looking bad on TCUs first 2 drives

After that call in the Houston game, I know what it’s like to be a Pats fan circa 2003 and have EVERYTHING seem to break your way.

That was embarrassing. I understand giving a 15 yd penalty on the staff for throwing the flag when it is not allowed. But, not reviewing the play because he threw the flag? Ridiculous.

Hey – I may get this game right!! After losing HOU -4 and DAL -3 my NE -7 is off to a good start. At least it will prevent a complete shutout.

That was a nice lip synched halftime show.

Remember that time Rex Ryan was full of all that RAH RAH bullshit, full of piss and vinegar… and then he kicked a comically meek field goal, down 35 points? Rex’s next job should be at a used car lot.

Or that time they punted on 4th and 1 to start the 2nd half?

I have never understood the draw about Lenny Kravitz. I just don’t get it. His stuff sounds sooooo derivative.
After the first half, he doesn’t have much to say anymore. Put Tebow out there…

Not sure how any head coach can survive if a team continues to play this way.
And if rex survives this season as HC of the NYJ then I look forward to the cellar dweller jets for years to come.
