Will Muschamp’s Wife Thinks He’s Sexy, Despite Florida’s Sexless Wins
All, College Football, Video November 20th. 2012, 10:15am
Will Muschamp was asked about his team’s abstemious wins affecting them in the BCS rankings. Coach Boom brought up his wife…
How bad is Florida’s offense? Three offensive touchdowns combined in two games against Louisiana-Lafayette and Jacksonville State. Three.

I figured I’d just drop it in the comments randomly.
Though I have done a 180… I went from hating Duffy’s forced usage of obscure words to now fully enjoying it. I just hope he does it in a manner that is clearly forced for amusement/edification, and not just sounding like a douche in Englit 101 trying to sound smart.

Basketball prospectus has Duke as the seventh best team in the country. Another clueless media outlet enamored with a 26-50 ranked team.
- Monk
November 20th, 2012 at 10:28 AM
abstemious implies self-restraint. I don’t think FL is restraining themselves on offense. I think they are trying hard as they can.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:31 AM
So what you’re saying is this is a case of someone using a word to seem smart incorrectly. Like Monk using “in lieu of” horribly wrong.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:32 AM
karma.

Hey Vez
Did you end up getting those 4 points last night with Gould and Bush?

Ha. I’m not sure Duffy has enough self-awareness for that to be true, although I see where you care coming from.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:40 AM
Yeah, this is bad. I’m a Duffy defender, but sometimes man, sometime……
November 20th, 2012 at 10:42 AM
No.

I have no idea what you’re talking about.
/goes back to post which has picture of Duffy wearing puka shell necklace.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
Could you imagine Duffy’s poor 12th grade AP English teacher?
The indignation and extra credit vocab on that term paper must have been off the charts!

i slept with his wife

I only thought he dropped those words into soccer posts to make himself sound more British, but clearly, this post debunks that theory.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:47 AM
Never forget, MS. Never forget.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:47 AM
i bet duffy smoked mad weed back in ann arbor.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:48 AM
Vez – didn’t Marshall have a TD, I thought TDs are worth 6? Or is that not how fantasy scoring works.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:49 AM
Never forget, MS. Never forget.
Holy crap you blew that picture up big time. I bet he used a horse hair brush on that hair of his.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:49 AM
Nice raised fist also… I wonder if LaDuffy is a member of the NABJ too.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:49 AM
After this game, bro, we’re gonna burn one, then go map out a couple of disc golf holes on campus, so get a cooler full of Fat Tires ready and let’s go celebrate.

so get a cooler full of Fat Tires ready and let’s go celebrate.
Well played.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:50 AM
What would be the fallout if we found out Duffy really went to a branch campus of Michigan. That would have to rate pretty high on the scandal scale here, right?
November 20th, 2012 at 10:51 AM
uh…that sound pretty sweet. were you trying to be complimentary because you succeeded.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:52 AM
Capacious shells and such. And thy rope? There is definitely not a paucity of braided rope.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:52 AM
meh…it wouldn’t really matter at all to me.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:52 AM
wwos, i have two teams. the one facing vladdy was not the marshall team

Gotta admit, switch out Fat Tire with Foster’s Oil Can and I wasn’t much different in college.
November 20th, 2012 at 10:53 AM

Is that because you went to UNT-Dallas instead of UNT?

Oh I know you’re not.
Speaking of Denton, how did you like the nightlife up there? The wife and I are considering a move sometime in the next year and there are grad programs in Denton that we both like.

it would rank right up there when we found out ms621 was a charter user or Pinterest.
November 20th, 2012 at 11:00 AM
nightlife was aight for a college town…had more of an austin vibe than a dallas one (obvs on a WAY smaller scale), but fortunately, you’re close enough to dallas to make the trip in as long as you can convince your wife to DD.

The Pontiac Silverdome was converted to a shared campus to start the “University of Michigan at University of Phoenix College of Learnerning at Pontiac” a few years ago, but I think it was after Duffy

Sounds about right. We ate dinner up there Saturday at Sweetwater Grill on the square. My wife gets a little anxious in small towns and it struck us that even though Denton has over 100,000 people it very much has a small town feel. DART has a light rail line that goes all the way to downtown now so we’re also considering the possibility of a commute.
November 20th, 2012 at 11:04 AM
And by the way, my “Guide to College Football Fandom” comment on the Notre Dame/USC post yesterday was not an exclusive list. Y’all got pretty riled up over nothing.

Wow. Excellent, Scripty.

that’s some serious claustrophobia
November 20th, 2012 at 11:05 AM
Never been to Denton.
Like me some Dallas every now and then, but Fort Worth is my town in the metroplex.

Nice.

seriously…it’s a pretty decent sized area. and it’s close enough to both dallas and FW that it doesn’t really feel that disconnected. i loved denton…fit my lifestyle perfectly. just wish i was playing golf back then.

I think it’s in her head. She grew up partly in Bulverde which is a small suburb about 45 minutes north of San Antonio. So I don’t know why Denton gives her small town anxiety and that didn’t, but whatever.
November 20th, 2012 at 11:06 AM
cosigned.
November 20th, 2012 at 11:07 AM
Florida isn’t restraining themselves on offense with the system they run? Running very few plays, keeping things as tight as possible to limit mistakes, and win with defense? Go back to your day jobs.
November 20th, 2012 at 11:07 AM
yeah, but what IS small-town anxiety? i get ghetto anxiety, but she afraid of farm equipment?
November 20th, 2012 at 11:08 AM
but Fort Worth is my town in the metroplex.
I used to dislike Fort Worth, but having spent more time there I appreciate the place now. It’s like a less uppity, more laid back Dallas.
November 20th, 2012 at 11:08 AM
This Joe Bush racial heel-turn is fascinating.

[shrugs] I think small towns give a sense of isolation of something. I used to spend summers in Terrell, Texas, so small towns don’t bother me all that much.

Interesting to see that they have Michigan 44th. They’re as down on the Wolverines as Monk is on the Blue Devils.
November 20th, 2012 at 11:11 AM
This was a discussion about “style points.” Calling them that is an implication that rolling over teams with offense is excessive, self-aggrandizing, indulgent and somehow inferior. (I think that’s ridiculous) Thus, I termed Florida’s non-style point wins abstemious to play on that.

November 20th, 2012 at 11:48 AM
Foster’s load was not that high last year. But he’s now on pace to exceed the dreaded 370 carries that the stat geeks talk about all the time.
I just noticed that Terrell Davis had an astounding 481 carries including the postseason in 1997. He had another amazing year in ’98 before it all came to an end.
