Tony Brooks (and Ricky Watters) were suspended by Holtz prior to the USC game in ’88. ended up not mattering as ND rolled the future Mr. Holly Robinson Peete’s team, but I remember it being a huge deal right before the game

Reggie Brooks not only scored an unconscious TD vs. Michigan, earlier in his career when he was playing DB he intercepted Elvis Grbac to clinch the 1990 game.
