LaMarr Woodley Upset Ray Rice Used Terrible Towel as Towel After the Ravens Beat the Steelers
The Ravens beat the Steelers 13-10 in Pittsburgh on Sunday night. After the game, Ray Rice was seen walking around with one of Pittsburgh’s many annoying Terrible Towels on his head. This did not sit right with LaMarr Woodley who posted one of the pictures on his Facebook page with the message:
Bad idea little guy just ask lendale white and tj whosyourmama
See, this is a reference to that time when two guys not nearly as good as Ray Rice probably did something to the Steelers fans stupid towels. Steelers fans are super upset, pointing out that the “Ravens lack respect for anything.” The Steelers and Ravens meet again in Baltimore on December 2nd. The Steelers should still be fighting for a wild card spot by then. Let’s see if they can get revenge. Or not. Who cares? It’s a stupid towel.

I for one am shocked.
November 20th, 2012 at 2:50 PM
You’re a towel.
November 20th, 2012 at 2:53 PM
The fans, I understand…the types who comment on stuff like this are irrational.
However, I can’t come to understand why a player cares. If Woodley was a FA next year, he’d defecate on a terrible towel for more money in Baltimore.
November 20th, 2012 at 2:53 PM
These people hold their ‘towel’ on the same level as the American flag. Fucking yinzers.
November 20th, 2012 at 2:55 PM
It’s not like he’s using it as a dream catcher.
November 20th, 2012 at 2:56 PM
Cool story bro.
November 20th, 2012 at 2:58 PM
some backup Browns backup RB did some shit to a towel befor the 94 playoff game. some steelers felt obligated to mention this, like, after the Browns left and came back, they were still bitching about this.

Steeler fans identify with the Terrible Towel. It is a silly thing, but they do. I own one (autographed by Jack Ham!), but don’t take it out for games or take pictures of it in exotic locations. I like that Steeler players like it and identify with it to. While I understand why players leave for more money, it seems to me like the Steelers have more guys how stay for less/come back after they retire and embrace being a Steeler and member of the community more than other teams.
and those towels generate a lot of money for charity.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:06 PM
Correct. It seems that way because you like the Steelers.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:07 PM
Woodley is just mad that Rutgers is gonna own Meeeechigan.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:08 PM
you live in PIT area right? well there’s your answer for why it seems that way. it sure seems like there are a lot of former browns here in the community…HMM, WONDER WHY.

maybe. that’s why I wrote seems, not “I’m positive”

I get upset when people get upset over yellow cloth. Especially when I’m associated with said people.

grew up in Pittsburgh, live in DC. I know it happens everywhere, and a lot of former Skins stay active in the community here. I wasn’t intending to make some earthshattering statement. I know it happens everywhere, but to me it SEEMS like it happens MORE with the Steelers. I say that having lived in Pittsburgh, Baltimore and DC.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:11 PM
it’s not the yellow cloth we hate, it’s the asshole waving it.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:12 PM
While it seems easy to mock our resident 1%-er…who are the marquee free agents to leave Pittsburgh in the last decade…Burress?

“Don’t you see what towels like these are capable of?? You get out of the shower and dry yourself off… But then, the towel makes you drier and keeps on making you more dry… Can you imagine it? What it would be like to be way, way too dry? I’ll tell you something: you don’t want to know, and I don’t know.”
November 20th, 2012 at 3:13 PM
to be fair, yinzers are notoriously easy to trick out of their income not allocated to meth to buy useless steeler trinkets. great business opportunity for former steelers.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:13 PM
I get upset when people get upset over yellow cloth.
It isn’t the color. It is because it is made in China.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:13 PM
A player’s post-career home typically has a lot to do with what business opportunities they can realize after their career. If you can leverage your name because you had a successful athletic career in that city, that probably plays more of a role in a player’s decision of where to live than a love of Primanti brothers or waving a yellow dish towel.

I was once given a non-Myron Cope authentic terrible towel. When you would spin it over your head huge chunks of yellow fuzz would fly everywhere.
Thanks grandma.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:16 PM
I fear for all the failed fade routes that will occur now that we signed him. The play needs to burn in hell.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:16 PM
A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.”
November 20th, 2012 at 3:16 PM
to be fair, you got revenge on those two crappy players when you were actually productive, lamarr. now that you’re shitty and it’s ray rice? maybe you should pipe down instead.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:17 PM
faneca.
If I remember right they let him walk. and it was definitely downside of his career Faneca, not the badass he was early in his career.
Santonio would have walked as a free agent, so they traded him. Mike Wallace will eventually leave as a free agent.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:17 PM
was that the question? faneca was the most well known guard in the NFL when he left PIT.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:18 PM
so the namesakes of the rooney rule don’t take care of their well paid slaves when they’re not useful anymore? hey, howbout that…

KU handed out towels before a game years ago. It was kind of humid that day and the blue off the towel bled off onto everyone’s hands. I have no doubt that we will all get hand cancer from it.

again, it is because they were downtrending and wanted new contracts that they were allowed to go, right?
So Joey Porter counts. He got fat, fat money elsewhere.

My wife’s only fault is being a steelers fan, and I take great joy in fucking with her terrible towel, like the time I hid it and ha her convinced I burned it, or the time I used it to blowy nose.
/there’s nothing terrible about any towel

Ray Rice shouldn’t be doing anything that has even a remote chance of bringing bad luck to a team that already has Joe Flacco at QB. The Ravens luck this year rivals only Notre Dame’s.
November 20th, 2012 at 4:00 PM
Technically, they stay because their group health plan allows them for bulk discount on steroid purchases.
November 20th, 2012 at 7:20 PM
Full disclosure, I am a Baltimore fan. But, I have to say that Ray Rice is a great guy who is never in any sort of controversy. Just today he was helping out at a food kitchen and he helps local schools with anti-bullying campaigns. Personally I feel it is just a towel. I have used Ravens towels myself to clean my car etc after they get worn. I bet he would apologize to the Steelers if he knew that they were upset.
November 20th, 2012 at 9:26 PM
The Ravens had a very difficult time with a Rothlisberger, Palumalu, and Brown less Steeler team. They shouldn’t be celebrating anything, but should be embarrassed. They had zero offense and a defense that could barely stop a has-been second string Quarterback.
November 21st, 2012 at 4:06 AM
That’s an insult to has-been second string Quarterbacks everywhere.
November 21st, 2012 at 8:16 AM
A win is a win. The Ravens have lost both starting Cornerbacks in Webb and Smith. They lost Lewis for the rest of the season too. All teams have big injury losses. Mcphee and Cody were both inactive for this game too.

Cruncher,
9/23/12 – Raiders 34, Steelers 31.
Enough said.
November 26th, 2012 at 8:58 PM
It’s douche reporters that need to do their homework. The towel is not just about Steeler football. Myron Cope never made a penny from his idea. All the proceeds go to a school for disabled children in Pittsburgh. All you butt nuggets on here need to pipe down. Ray rice is a joke. He is the ravens offense because Flacco is a noodle armed wuss who can’t throw down the field. Not to mention officials like giving him an extra yard when the game is on the line.
