Heisman 2012 Power Rankings: Down to Manziel and Te’o
Johnny Manziel [Texas A&M] Mr. Football has surpassed 3,000 yards passing and 1,100 yards rushing and has 38 total touchdowns. He’s had his Heisman moment. Merely a freshman, but he’s hard to deny in a weak field.
Manti Te’o [Notre Dame] Notre Dame moves ahead of Kansas State. Te’o moves ahead of Klein. A wave of good feelings next week could push him over the edge.
Collin Klein [Kansas State] Good job. Good effort. The blowout loss to Baylor drops him, as does not playing well individually the past couple weeks. He’s built up too much momentum to fall away (ballots were out before the fall), but it is hard to see him recovering to win.
Marqise Lee [USC] The Trojans have lost three of four. Can’t blame Lee who had 821 yards and seven touchdowns over that stretch. Another dominant performance against Notre Dame would cement his trip New York, if he has not done so already.
Aaron Murray [Georgia] Poll voters have forgotten the South Carolina game. Heisman voters may do the same. Murray has put up some numbers the past three weeks, completing 71 percent of his passes while throwing for 11 touchdowns (no INT) and more than 900 yards. If he can upset Alabama to get Georgia to the BCS Title Game when other candidates aren’t playing…

Good job. Good effort.
Excellent, Duffy. Could have swore Hernia wrote that.

Braxton Miller is #4 on the Heisman Pundit poll
November 20th, 2012 at 5:15 PM
I can’t see a LB winning this thing.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:16 PM
Just because everyone else sucks. Braxton’s trip to NYC is gone after last Saturday. Unless he blows out Michigan and runs for 100+ and passes for 250+.

Manti Te’O isn’t even the best LB in the country

Give it to the freshman, he’s earned it.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:22 PM
Since when is this award about being the best player?
November 20th, 2012 at 5:33 PM
Hei5Manti Te’o.

What he said. If this was about the best player you’d have more variation than 3 QBs, a receiver and a LB in the running.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:34 PM
He isn’t even the best LB in the Mid West.

my new boss is a michigan grad (played CB during the moeller years) and his son is there now. last weekend, his son and some of his friends were drinking after the game when one of them seemed a lil out of it…so they call it a night around 1 and go back to boss’ son’s dorm.
they woke up and couldnt find their sick friend but a window was open. nobody knows how or why, but the kid somehow jumped out the window. shattered both ankles and needs one of his vertebrae fused or something (whatever it was, it was serious).
anyways, the kid’s in the hospital on sunday and denard happened to be there visiting fitz toussaint and stopped in to visit the kid for a lil while, even tho they never met and denard’s the BMOC who had already done doing what he had came to the hospital to do.
absolute fucking 100% class act, denard robinson.
/no walk the dinosaur
//no rivalry hate bullshit

Realized Denard Robinson was still Michigan’s quarterback.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:37 PM
That’s an insane story, Spence… Denard’s always seemed like a pretty good dude. Great story. Now… go Michigan… firm up those computer scores.

The guy on my team is better than the guy on your team. Discuss.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:39 PM
sick but damn funny.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:40 PM
We could really use a shortstop.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:42 PM
not really.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:46 PM
The guy on that team is better than the guy on this team. Discuss.

Anybody else going out of town to hang out with people at the gym this weekend?
November 20th, 2012 at 5:49 PM
O RLY?
November 20th, 2012 at 5:50 PM
Denard is a good kid. But fuck him and Devin Gardner.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:53 PM

Agreed that Ken Dorsey should have a Heisman.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:57 PM
Is that the team where the LB randomly runs away from the ball because he can’t tell play action from a run? Because yeah, Shazier is definitely the best LB on that team.
Shazier won’t be the best LB in the game this weekend.
November 20th, 2012 at 5:59 PM
Agreed that Ken Dorsey should have a Heisman.
Willis McGahee should have one, anyway
November 20th, 2012 at 6:04 PM
Perhaps. But Mike Mitchell, Trey Johnson and Raekwon McMillian will be on the sidelines.
November 20th, 2012 at 6:08 PM
Ok homer. You have fun with your imagination. Just ignore him running the wrong way while Jake Ryan sets the edge and keeps contain on Braxton.
November 20th, 2012 at 6:10 PM
Good look stopping the option with Miller, Hyde and Smith. Meeechigan has looked sooooo good against it this year.
November 20th, 2012 at 6:12 PM
I’m sure you don’t have any fears of this happening again.

I’m not saying for sure Te’o deserves it, but if he can’t win it this year, with his story, his only-eligible-unbeaten team, with only one other really acceptable candidate (and one that tossed 3 picks to almost single-handedly lose the LSU game and, in retrospect, his team’s shot at a national title), then just declare defensive players ineligible for eternity.
/thinks Johnny Football is a stud, though.
November 20th, 2012 at 6:37 PM
GTFO with this Manti Teo stuff. Hes got mediocre numbers against mediocre teams. Numbers don’t lie, Johnny had his way with 3 of the top 6 or 7 defenses in the country.

Well aint that a bitch.
Also, I am probably more deserving of the Heisman than Teo. Seriously.
/i’m serious
November 20th, 2012 at 7:10 PM
Teo is probably one of the 20 best defensive players in the country, but if Suh couldn’t win then Teo sure as shit can’t.

The Irish haters in the SEC/ESPN are having to dig pretty deep: freshman at ninth ranked school. I dont think past winners are going to vote for the kid. Maybe next year or the year after. Like it or not Manti is The Man!
