Notre Dame 1st in BCS Standings, Alabama 2nd, Oregon and Kansas State Blew Their Chance
1. Notre Dame .997 – Beat USC Saturday on the road and the Irish play for the title.
2. Alabama .933 – Beat UGA in the SEC title game and they’re playing for another title.
3. Georgia .876 – Wouldn’t shock me if the Bulldogs beat Alabama.
4. Florida .843 – Go Seminoles!
5. Oregon .832 – No shot at the title game, right?
6. Kansas State .760 – Still can’t get over the choke in Waco.
7. LSU .731 – Need a lot of help to get into the title game.
8. Stanford .708 – Rose Bowl-bound?
9. Texas A&M .653 – Super duper longshot to get into the title game mix.
10. FSU .636 – Would a win over Florida not be enough to get them near the title game?

I know how the BCS works with late and early losses. But Oregon should be ahead of Georgia.
November 18th, 2012 at 8:48 PM
Georgia is the most extremely average team to ever get ranked this high.
November 18th, 2012 at 8:49 PM
How on earth is Georgia third? That team has played two decent teams and split.
November 18th, 2012 at 8:55 PM
Weakest top five in years
/a guess
November 18th, 2012 at 8:58 PM
George got blown out like 35-7. And haven’t playing any of the top 3 or 4 teams in the other division in the SEC.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:00 PM
The only thing kstate choked on was baylors erection. They got steamrolled.
And if nd plays for the title, I will not watch.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:03 PM
It’s almost impossible to find a worse title game matchup than SEC vs. ND. The two worst fanbases in the country for the right to act like asshats for an entire year. Awesome.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:03 PM
6. Kansas State .760 – Still can’t get over the choke in Waco
You inappropriately use the word “choke” 18/20ths of the time. You used it correctly here. That was a choke job. It doesn’t mean they are frauds. KSU will still win the Big 12 and play in a BCS game. That is pretty heady stuff for them.
Good win, MP.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:05 PM
As far as I can tell you are the only person on the planet who thinks there is some scenario in which FSU jumps 10 teams better than them.
Have you not seen the ACC play football? (knows the answer to that)
November 18th, 2012 at 9:07 PM
Jacoby Jones! Punt return score!
Go Ravens!
November 18th, 2012 at 9:08 PM
Jacoby Jones doing work.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:08 PM
Go Steelers. I need them to cover after Denver fucked me over in the last 2 minutes.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:10 PM
It’s wild and likely impossible. better chance i hit the lottery. better chance I get a call tomorrow from Jessica Alba wondering what I’m up to.
BUT …
Georgia Tech beats Georgia.
Georgia beats Alabama. Both have 2 losses.
LSU has 2 losses. Would a FSU win over UF be enough to jump LSU?
Oregon loses to Oregon State.
Stanford loses to UCLA.
Kansas State loses to Texas.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:11 PM
Same here dirty randy
November 18th, 2012 at 9:11 PM
Ohio State proudly sports the worst fanbase in the country. Non-alumni Notre Dame is #2, followed by the USC alumni on Fox Sports Radio.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:11 PM
And if nd plays for the title, I will not watch.
well, shoot. there go the ratings.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:13 PM
I cant imagine being a non alum fan of a college team
November 18th, 2012 at 9:13 PM
I’m an SEC homer, and I’ve defended the SEC in other years, especially when the computers give crazy love to other conferences like the Big 12.
However, I have no idea or explanation at the love UF and UGA are getting in particular. These are both very average teams, UGA a little better but not much.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:14 PM
Thanks Kc. The past year has been awesome for bu (I know the bar is low).
November 18th, 2012 at 9:15 PM
Ill be ok with nd playing for the title but not with te’o winning Heisman
November 18th, 2012 at 9:15 PM
Michigan is the worst. 2nd worst is SEC fan.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:17 PM
Also, this is the weakest heisman field that I have ever seen.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:17 PM
Kansas State loses to Texas.
That ain’t happening. KSU owns Texas and gets two weeks to get healthy. They just weren’t deep enough to sustain a NT run.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:17 PM
Barkley out for USC. There is literally no way Notre Dame could be any luckier.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:18 PM
Thanks Kc. The past year has been awesome for bu (I know the bar is low). MP
My team hasn’t won a conference game in 2 1/2 years. Jebus.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:19 PM
KSU was a total fraud, theres no other way to put it. Scrappy team, played smart, limited penalties, few turnovers, but they have nothing in talent. They beat a bad Oklahoma team and nothing else.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:22 PM
Hey! That’s the same ou team the Irish beat!
November 18th, 2012 at 9:24 PM
Bama and Georgia are luckier with their weak ass schedules.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:28 PM
Michigan Week.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:28 PM
Rice better build you a lead vladdy bc bush and gould are nots to be fucked with
November 18th, 2012 at 9:28 PM
You mean michigan weak
November 18th, 2012 at 9:29 PM
Hey Todd Haley, your QB is Byron f’in Leftwich, run the damn ball and stop calling pass after pass.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:29 PM
I dislike ND very much but I am not sure how lucky they are. You go undefeated as ND or a major conference team you have a strong chance to play for the NCAA title more often than not.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:30 PM
Fuck the Wolverines. The fan bases confidence is so high right now after OSU’s offense played so poorly on Saturday. Their in for a rude awakening. Shazier is gonna tear Denards head off. Try chucking that shit up against OSU Gardner. OSU will own the trenches.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:32 PM
No one gives a shit.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:33 PM
I hate ND and I know they got a favorable call or two and had some close games against inferior opponents. But their schedule was legit as fuck. If they win against USC they totally deserve to play in the NC game.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:35 PM
No shit coop. I bet on pitt p3.5 mostly bc i thought they’d run all over ravens
November 18th, 2012 at 9:35 PM
Times like this I wish that deer in the headlights picture of you and her was easier to find
November 18th, 2012 at 9:35 PM
Outside of ou and Stanford, who the hell has nd played worth a damn? Not big ten good, but good?
November 18th, 2012 at 9:39 PM
Who’s Bama played? Should’ve lost to LSU and lost to aTm.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:39 PM
Not talking about Bama. Who has nd played?
November 18th, 2012 at 9:40 PM
Outside of ou and Stanford, who the hell has nd played worth a damn? Not big ten good, but good?
while I understand what you are going for here, the same question can be asked of most if not all of the teams in the BCS top ten. win your games. that’s the simple solution to making hay in the BCS.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:40 PM
The answer is fucking no one.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:41 PM
Alright mp…easy on the irish…not their fault no one really bulldozed this year or conquered a tough sked. Just no teo for heisman
November 18th, 2012 at 9:41 PM
All- i know, just beat who is on the schedule, and nd has done it. But shit, it’s weak.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:42 PM
JMac did you take the Ravens in this game despite my warnings?
November 18th, 2012 at 9:42 PM
what’s your solution here, mp? who do you think “deserves” to be #1?
November 18th, 2012 at 9:44 PM
This is all Les Miles’ fault for calling such a shitty game against Bama.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:46 PM
I don’t know, all. It’s brain damage trying to think of it.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:47 PM
Yonder: there are 12 teams who deserve a title shot. Impossible to make the case for just two.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:48 PM
No clue who truly deserves to be number 1. Oregon was exposed against a real defense. Bama looks to be the most talented. LSU, FLA and SC are all flawed. Georgia? They got skullfucked and haven’t seen much of them.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:48 PM
What queefer said.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:50 PM
this season is definitely a prime example why the BCS is such a fucked proposition in the first place. sure, we will get the four team deal in a couple of years and in most years it doesn’t play out quite as insanely as this (sure is fun though!) but enough already.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:52 PM
When was the last time a team got an ass-beating the way GA did – and were national champions?
November 18th, 2012 at 9:55 PM
ND, Oregon, Stanford, OSU, Bama, KSU, UGA, FSU, FLA.
November 18th, 2012 at 9:57 PM
Add Oklahoma and Clemson to that list if they win out. And tOSU (AP).
November 18th, 2012 at 9:59 PM
Clemson? No. OU got blown out by ND. But sure. Should have lost against WV.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:00 PM
If Clemson beats south Carolina they have just as much of a case as anyone else.
If we’re playing the “should have lost” card, there goes Alabama and ND.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:01 PM
Whats wrong with that? Too much focus on “national title.” College football is about tailgates, reminiscing, rivalries, and getting wasted on beautiful saturday afternoons. It ends next week, anything after that is and always has been pretty meaningless.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:03 PM
When they beat SC sure. Don’t see it happening.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:04 PM
So Gronk broke his forearm on an extra point with the hoodie running up the score, starters in and passing? He knows Peyton doesn’t play for Indy any more, right?
November 18th, 2012 at 10:15 PM
I’m glad ND will be in the title game and I hope it’s v. a team like Bama that will trounce them.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:15 PM
Ravens needed a goddamn foot and couldn’t call the right play. Three poinst through one half. Someone needs to explain to me how cam Cameron keeps his job every week.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:33 PM
Baltimore, obviously, will blow this. so many missed chances. freaky Pitt TD for 14-13 final, or maybe Ravens will “win” 16-14 but not cover.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:36 PM
Taking Baltimore on the road is a disaster. I tried to warn you man.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:43 PM
knew what i was getting into, Queefer. always a close series, just thought (hope) Baltimore can win by a FG.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:51 PM
not that I’m going to argue with this, but FSU blew it against NCSU. had they won that, they very well could have been playing in the title game with a win over that gators. I know the computers hate them, but they are a name brand and I imagine the voters would have them at 1 or 2, if not for that choke job.
November 18th, 2012 at 10:53 PM
ravens will never get anywhere if they always play down to their opponents skill set. raiders being the exception. which is fine by me.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:03 PM
Am I gonna see Charlie Batch closing this game out?
Someone has to make a play on offense.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:09 PM
Someone needs to stuff Cam Cameron inside a stack of tires and light the whole thing on fire. Third and two and you’re slinging a jump ball to Tandon Doss. Get the fuck out of this league.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:14 PM
I have yet to see Flacco have a series where he doesn’t overthrow a receiver or throw out of bounds to somebody who was wide open. Cam Cameron indeed.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:17 PM
There hasn’t been an open Ravens receiver all game.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:24 PM
Two yards. Two yards and you win.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:24 PM
Game over, how the hell you jumping offsides.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:33 PM
Game is never over when cam Cameron runs the show. Best RB in the league? Get in the shotgun and throw!
November 18th, 2012 at 11:36 PM
JMac was right.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:36 PM
as long as Leftwich isn’t throwing the match, it’d probably fall 15 yards short of the tires.
jesus.
November 18th, 2012 at 11:52 PM
/never forget
Can he borrow the ones Leftwich was wearing tonight?
November 19th, 2012 at 8:24 AM
They gave up 21 points in the 4th quarter to Curtis Fucking Painter last year, so yeah. Pats leads are NEVER out of reach.
November 19th, 2012 at 8:25 AM
Oh, make that Dan Orlovsky.
November 19th, 2012 at 10:11 AM
Don’t get UF ranked over Oregon. The Ducks have only one shot at a title – if USC beats ND; if they win out (including the Pac 12 title game) they could sneak ahead of UF. But, an all SEC title matchup (ugh!) is also possible if UF wins, ND loses. That would be terrible.
All these teams have weaknesses, however. Not a great season or great teams. But, ‘Bama would be undefeated if they actually used their best players and ran the football instead of calling plays as if they have Peyton Manning at QB. Stop throwing on 1st down; and if you get it 1st and goal at the 7, run it at least the first two plays – if not all 4 downs if necessary (with Lacey).
ND is the best matchup for Alabama if they beat UGA because ND is not a great passing team and the Tide’s weakness is at DB. Oregon would give either UGA or AL a very tough game if they get back into it. And, UGA has to pass well to beat ‘Bama. If they do, as mediocre as they have looked, they could pull off a win in that game.
But, ND-Bama would be another defensive oriented title game. NOt as boring as the AL-LSU game but still – teams that play defense are few and far between these days (Stanford does).
Stanford is just a very good team. May be as good as any in the country.
