Thurdsay Night (College) Football: North Carolina at Virginia
As bad as the Big Ten has been, the ACC has been worse. Miami and Georgia Tech lead the Coastal division at 4-3 (5-5). UNC and Duke are both a half-game back at 3-3 (6-4). Three of those four could end up in the Orange Bowl. The fourth is playing tonight. North Carolina can win the division, by winning out and having Duke beat Georgia Tech and lose to Miami. Their postseason ban, however, would leave them out of the title game. Miami might also bow out if it self-imposes a ban pending NCAA sanctions as well.
Gio Bernard is Awesome: The North Carolina running back missed two games early in the season. In the eight game he has played, Bernard leads the nation in yards per game from scrimmage with 177.4. Arizona’s Ka’Deem Carey is the only player within 15 yards of him. He’s also scored 17 total touchdowns, two on punt returns.
Turnovers Kill: Virginia has out-gained its opponent in each of their last six games. They have lost four of them. In the two wins, the Cavaliers had a turnover margin of (+4). In the two losses, the Cavaliers had a turnover margin of (-9). The two wins were their last two games. They need two more to reach a bowl game.

I don’t think anyone has any kind of clear expectation for what Miami’s penalties will be. It’s at least 5 months until those sanctions are announced. If Miami beats Duke they might take their chances at the ACCCG

After last weeks storming of the field I am scared to see what UVA fans would do tonight if they beat a favored team in Charlottesville. By comparison to Miami, UNC has been a juggernaut the past handful of years.

UNC was 31-21 from ’08-’11 and Miami was 29-22 in that span. That’s not much different
