Ballin’: Zach Randolph to Kendrick Perkins: “I’ll beat your ass”
LA Clippers 107, Miami 100: With four wins in a row, including this impressive one over Miami, the Paper Clips are now the best team in LA. And maybe ready to contend in the West, like I predicted in the offseason? There are 74 games left, but the bench continues to impress – Jamal Crawford scored 22 points, Ryan Hollins blocked three shots and Eric Bledsoe had an incredible block and scored 12 points. He’s now being called, “Mini LeBron.”
Memphis 107, Oklahoma City 97: Is there a hotter team in the NBA than the Grizzlies? A few days after beating the Heat, the Grizz went on the road and easily handled the Thunder behind 28 points from Rudy Gay and another strong performance from their bench (31 points five 3-pointers). Kevin Durant scored 34 points, but Russell Westbrook shot 6-of-19. Through nine games, he’s only shooting 39 percent, but his assists are way up from last year (8.1). Listen closely in the above video – you can hear Randolph yell, “I’ll beat your ass.” A second later, he’s tossed (along with Kendrick Perkins). As good as Wayne Ellington is playing (six points in 11 minutes, is this a good time to talk about that one girl he used to date? She was a site favorite back in the day.
Houston 100, New Orleans 96: James Harden scored 30 in the win. Jeremy Lin shot 2-of-10. Ryan Anderson tossed this one in over the backboard, Larry Bird-style.
Golden State 92, Atlanta 88: Rookie Harrison Barnes scored a career-high 19 points and collected 13 rebounds – including a clutch offensive board and two free throws in the final minute – in leading the Warriors to victory.
Chicago 112, Phoenix 106, OT: It isn’t everyday you see one player hurdle another, and then a basket immediately follows.
Milwaukee 99, Indiana 85: The Bucks are quietly 5-2 with a blowout road win over the scuffling Pacers. Milwaukee’s backcourt of Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis each scored 16 points and the Bucks raced out to a 26-point halftime lead. The Hawks played without Al Horford (sick).
Charlotte 89, Minnesota 87: Kemba Walker (22 points), using the exact same move he did at the end of a Big East tournament game, beat the Timberwolves with this clutch shot. That’s three wins in a row for Charlotte! Also worth noting: Malcolm Lee of Minnesota, playing because the team is so beat up, threw down this nasty dunk.

Said it last night, saying it now. Grizzlies’ bandwagon – get on board, now. “Accept the word of one who knows”.

thank you for keeping Pistons ban in effect. Even after a win. might have 20 more of those this season.

It’s up to the SG’s. If they can keep hitting jumpers, and make you space the floor defensively, they are BRUTAL to defend. Gasol is such a good passer he’ll pick you apart from the EE or the short-corner. Nice group of wing-defenders, too. Pondexter is so physical. Lord are they fun to watch.

If Tyler Hansbrough leads you in scoring and you aren’t a college team, you are in some trouble.

Telfair should have been called for a foul just for intent. Although I am sure more people would appreciate him attempting to kill Nate.

The most impressive thing for me last night was that for the second consecutive game, Nick Young had multiple assists. The last time that happened was games 14 and 15 of last season.

Zach Lowe wrote a really good article about the Grizz, specifically their offense:

Who are the top picks in the draft gonna be?
/hopeless Wiz fan after another horrendous start

Cody Zeller, Shabazz Muhammad, Nerlens Noel, James McAdoo seem like the consensus so far

This was the girlfriend I was trying to think of yesterday in that Danny Green thread. Hot damn.

The Knicks

I’d be cool with 11 more wins. Lottery time.

Lin is shooting 35% on the year, I really miss the Lowry-Dragic combo.
November 15th, 2012 at 10:29 AM
Who is most likely to fall to 13?
/damn you Alvin Gentry and your superior bench coaching
November 15th, 2012 at 10:30 AM
Who are the top picks in the draft gonna be?
Vlad will trade you Rodney Stuckey for Jan Vesely
/has no idea if that helps either team
November 15th, 2012 at 10:31 AM
I’ll take any guy but the white one.

Not a great draft, at least not right now

I don’t think there are second thoughts about Lowry leaving, given the return and/or whatever ill feelings he had for McHale, but there may be a lot of second guessing on essentially choosing Lin over Dragic for similar money. Again, it is early, but…

Just read about his 39 inch three step vertical the other day.

This is true. Lowry had to go, when he came back at the end of the year the Rockets went on their skid to miss the playoffs and it was obviously for chemistry reasons. Really a miscalculation by Morey, he didn’t think
Dragic was worth the money but Lin was? The Asik signing and Harden trade make up for it.

Done. Gets rid of that horrible contract and can let Janny marinate over in Slovakia or where ever he’s from for 3 years.
November 15th, 2012 at 10:42 AM
Need to check out Rudy Gobert. Also think Archie Goodwin will make his way into the lottery by the time your next mock is published.
November 15th, 2012 at 10:43 AM
Thanks for the link to the mock draft. McAdoo looks like the dude I’d want in the top 3. Is Shabazz really listed as a SG? I thought he was a big.
November 15th, 2012 at 10:45 AM
agree on Goodwin, even though it’s only been 2 games.
November 15th, 2012 at 10:46 AM
I haven’t seen much of Lin this year but it seems to me that a back court of Harden/Dragic would be very good. Thats a 45 point a night backcourt.
November 15th, 2012 at 10:46 AM
He certainly looks the part. I don’t know how great Harrow will be, but Goodwin will look even better when he returns so Archie can move off the point.
November 15th, 2012 at 10:47 AM
Janny is a Czech, but he is here now, and sucking a big fat one. Scored 17 points in 96 minutes through 7 games this year. Also 1/9 from the FT line.

Jan Vesely will be a great talent who you can build a team around.
Signed,

The Wizards aren’t really looking at this group for their #1 2013 pick. See, Ernie has his eye on a 6’11″, 190 lb Serb shooting guard who’s going to “develop into a fine player” at some point.
/That would be never.
