For the purposes of this site, a GIF is an overused, crude, flip-book style animation made from a video. It’s reeeeally old technology, usually is of a file size that will wreak havoc with the best of bandwidths, will kill any mobile experience, and is being used to get around Youtube video scrubbing. Really, it’s quite similar to using musket rifles in the modern era, but some think it’s the bee’s knees and on the cutting edge.
