Alex Smith Also Knocked Out of Game With a Concussion on This Helmet to Helmet Hit
The early games were full of tight end touchdowns and pick sixes. So far, the late games have been bad news for starting quarterbacks, as Michael Vick and Alex Smith have both been knocked out of their games within minutes of each other. The 49ers fell behind by 14 points, so it looked like we were going to see Alex Smith throw the ball more than 20 times. Alas, this helmet hit ended that–gotta slide there because he’s a runner on that one. Colin Kaepernick now goes from goal line and wildcat weapon to the quarterback for rest of the game.

Always a good idea to lead with the back of your head and neck when encountering a 240 lb linebacker.
