Tommy Tuberville Knocked His Assistant’s Hat Off [UPDATE]
Here’s Tommy Tuberville slapping an assistant and knocking off his hat and head set. Being embroiled in a close game against Kansas at home will do that to you. Not quite sure it’s a Woody Hayes moment, but guessing this won’t be the last we hear about it.
Tuberville’s Explanation: “He’s out on the field, and we’re trying to get him off. I missed his shoulder, and grabbed his … . It wasn’t anything to it.”
That might have been the source of the disagreement. Don’t buy that he was aiming for the shoulder.

Is it possible to see the video? Not a lick of context here.

Assistant dude should have beat the hell out of him after that.

Looked like he just ripped his headset off instead of slapping him.

Don’t ruin the narrative.

Disrespectful as hell. Right in front of the players, too. One of them looks at it then puts his head down.
November 10th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
why would you grab an assistant’s headset off his head, mid-game, and then angrily chastise him?
November 10th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
I didn’t know Tommy had that kind of fire in him.

If you showed the video, perhaps we could speculate. I’ve watched most of this game and didn’t see it happen. Missed a couple minutes for a trip to the winery.

Jesus Christ refs. NW’s getting fucked hard.

Watched Tubs coach for several years at Ole Miss and Auburn and he always came across as a class act. Whether he slapped him or ripped his helmet off, this seems out of character for him. If it was a slap, I’m sure we will hear more about it later.

That’s just a good old ear hole slap there.

And there needs to be a GIF for what Pat Fitzgerald just did on that personal foul call.

Holy shit Florida is losing?
November 10th, 2012 at 2:59 PM
we probably won’t. if the kid is a grad assistant, no way he’ll come out and talk about this. not if he wants to work again.

QB knocked out.
So funny that the teams most people whined about in the playoff post earlier – Louisville, Florida – are both losing.

Something tells me this isn’t the first time he’s treated this young assistant like a bitch. Stand up for yourself kid ala, Buddy Ryan/Kevin Gilbride. I’m sure things would have gone over much better.

TBL always looking out for the little guy. Except if that little guy happens to be an unpaid intern.

Florida has been lucky all year. The defense masked the inept QB play. Losers

Denard who?
November 10th, 2012 at 3:15 PM
are you upset because you didn’t get selected? or get your resume in on time? I should keep track of where all our previous interns ended up. we’ve had some talent, and have two good ones now.
November 10th, 2012 at 3:16 PM
No, it still doesn’t excuse the idiocy from you in that post.
The only plausible scenario I could see for leaving Louisville out was that either you perceived the Mountain West to be a stronger conference than the Big East (thus including Fresno/Boise/SDSU), or the famed SRS said it was.
Never mind the fact that in the post you said “this is what an 8 team playoff would look like this season.” Presumably, that would include the Big East as an AQ conference, because, you know, they are an AQ conference this season.
While the SRS was difficult for me to find (maybe I’m using Google wrong) I did the math myself and found that the average SRS ranking for a Mountain West team was 35.1 compared to 39.1 for the Big East. As far as I could tell, the higher number the better.
35.03
November 10th, 2012 at 3:17 PM
Excuse the 35.03 at the end of that post, and no I did not apply to be an unpaid intern for your blog.

…and the HC gets a pass on it. Intensity, my butt.
