Johnny Heisman: Texas A&M Upsets No. 1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa
Whenever the slate of games looks awful, shit gets crazy. A.J. McCarron was intercepted in the end zone. Texas A&M upset No. 1 Alabama 29-24 in Tuscaloosa. Barring losses by two of Kansas State, Oregon and Notre Dame, Alabama, and the SEC, are out of the BCS Title game. The streak may be over. Incredible.
Johnny Manziel, a freshman, may be your Heisman front runner. He completed 24/31 for 253 yards and two touchdowns, adding 91 yards on 18 carries on the ground. This was his 10th college football game.
SEC fans, you are now rooting for Lane Kiffin. Texas fans, how’s Mack Brown working out?
The stop.
The game-winning touchdown.

Great win.
Took Alabama, lost, but don’t care. Much prefer the chaos that will vault ND into the title game.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:32 PM
USC is gonna beat ND

Just how does a kid from northern virginia and now in the NYC area become a ND fan?

Potential pageviews, Son. He knows what he is cheering for. KSU doesn’t generate pageviews. ND/Oregon will be pageview gold.

Game would have been much more exciting if the outcome was meaningless.

1. He’s not in NYC.
2. Notre Dame has a national fanbase. They’re everywhere.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:54 PM
The sad face shots of Bama fans in the stands (albeit some of them hot chicks) were great.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:54 PM
I expect Michigan to be called for zero penalties against OSU. Still should rape them though. PSU got hosed today.

At least AJ has Dee Dee to console him with those double d’s.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:59 PM
Alabama played two good teams all year. Should be 0-2. They don’t deserve to be in the title game even if the rest lose, especially with that schedule.
November 10th, 2012 at 7:59 PM
Hilarious.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:00 PM
KSU is going to knock two QBs out of this game.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:03 PM
Would love to see ND in the title game against Oregon and watch them get smashed. It’s one thing to beat Choke Stoops, it’s another to try to stop Oregon. Jarvis Jones is better than Manti Te’o. He just is. Yet is Te’o getting all the play only because he plays for ND.
I do think Bama is still in play for the title game but as previously said their schedule stinks. No Florida, No South Carolina.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:04 PM
I know that. I just wonder why people became fans of ND if they had no connection to the school. Must be the same deal with the yankees and cowboys having national fanbases

Duke controls their own destiny to play in the ACC title game. Hilariously awesome.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:06 PM
A freshman and Zach Mettenberg lit up Alabama’s “NFL” defense. Sad.
And their cheerleaders are hideous, jarring when the camera went to them.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:06 PM
Not the heisman frontrunner. How did he do against Florida and Lsu? Oh yeah, not good.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:07 PM
ND wouldn’t get blown out by Oregon in a NC game if that came to pass.

True, but you and I need to be prepared for next season. As far as media coverage.

Gus just pulled a Ric Flair. “Whooo!!!” Fuck Gus.

I heard that phrase so many times last year during the playoffs that now when I hear it I wish I was deaf and didn’t hear it. Or read it since now I’m on the internet. But I don’t wish I was blind.

I do that to get the dog riled up.

I know Kc, I know. I have already heard from my Aggie buddies. I am sure they will go ahead and claim he won the heisman on the Kyle field wall.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:21 PM
ND would not be within two TDS of Oregon.

Ha.
Not sure how TCU is going to score in this game. They have one hurt and scared QB and one shitty one.

He has to go. They’ve got a lot of talent and are getting humiliated in the SEC this season.

Just read an article linked to ESPN. Guy was talking about how brilliant it was that Manning got 21 pizza joints right before Colorado legalized the smoking joints.
November 10th, 2012 at 8:44 PM
that was catchable.

That was Simmons. First time I laughed out loud at one of his columns in awhile. He is so much better making jokes than bragging about himself.

Maybe I’m not one to talk about people not having any heart or repect, but Jesus Christ, just give the poor bastard a burial:
Deceased actor Sherman Hemsley’s longtime friend can proceed with his burial and running his estate, a Texas judge ruled Friday over the objections of his half-brother from Philadelphia.
Hemsley, who played George Jefferson on the TV sitcom “The Jeffersons,” died July 24 of lung cancer. His body has been in refrigerated storage at an El Paso funeral home since.

Looked into going to the BC/ND game tonight. Tickets were going for too much, not worth it. Thought about going to the tailgate and seeing if we could get tickets there, then realized the BC tailgate sucks ass.

Awkward congratulatory ass smacks after touchdowns I bet that would create. Coach gives you a smack, he gives you a grab.
November 10th, 2012 at 10:34 PM
Why is the title STUNNER???? Seriously, I’ve seen TXAM play several times this year and their OFF is unbelievable, as well as Johnny Football. He’s a hell of a player.
Bama was flat from that game last week and TXAM knocked their dicks in the dirt for the 1st Qtr and that did them in. They adjusted in the 2nd half, but their OFF couldnt deliver when they needed to.
Hats off to TXAM, well deserved win. As for Bama, I will be more disappointed if they shit the bed vs. Barner or maybe UGA for the SEC championship. They have a lot to play for, an SEC title, a major bowl bid, etc. If they look like crap the rest of the season, that will really be disappointing, not the outcome of tonite’s game.
BTW, Bama fans should be really happy how far they’ve come this considering that this team lost 9 DEF starters from last year’s team (5 players in the top 34 2012 NFL draft). OFF was gonna be good this year, but just came up short today.
Alot of good things to come to Bama if they stay focused.
Roll Damn Tide

Why is the title STUNNER????
No stunner with me.
Just a stunner for a first year coach is what some folks are thinking.
Saban – the no huddle is unfair, but uses it.
AJ McScreenpass – terribly over-rated.
I’m an SEC guy, but I’ve been sayin – the SEC defenses are propped up by bad QBs. Johnny is the exception and here’s what you get.
If aTm does this, Oregon would scores 60 vs this bama defense. Well – pretty much any defense they score 50+. Been saying that for weeks.
November 10th, 2012 at 10:52 PM
You’re prob right. the Bama DEF was exposed by an average LSU OFF last week. They made some adjustment for Johnny Football in the 2nd half, but it was too late then.
November 10th, 2012 at 11:01 PM
Defense is all about matchups.
I’ve always thought the bama front 7 on defense made up for weakness in the secondary. They have’t had to play many good qbs in the last 3-4 years for it to be a real concern.
Remember … Colt McCoy got knocked out early in the 09 NC.
November 10th, 2012 at 11:05 PM
Look up “Knute Rockne” and “barnstorming tours.” Back in Knute’s day Notre Dame played top teams all over the country, building a fanbase amongst Catholics nationwide (esp. Irish Catholics). A lot of them were lower-middle class blue-collar types who did not attend college and lived in larger cities.
Plus when you think about it’s hard for a state school to become a national brand, it’s given Notre Dame football, and later Duke basketball an advantage in that regard.
November 10th, 2012 at 11:08 PM
After watching LSU’s improving but far-from-elite offense move the ball at will on Bama, i figured A&M might give them a rough time esp. coming off such an intense game. But I thought A&M would crumble in the 2nd half like they did against Florida and LSU (and they did all of last year with Sherman/Tannehill).
Also i have to admit i thought Manziel was more hype than substance coming in, considering how he struggled against Florida and LSU (at home no less). He was incredible. He earned the Johnny Football moniker today.

My dad did not grow up Catholic but hung out with a lot of Catholic guys – in Wash DC. He became a ND fan b/c of his buddies. Eventually became Catholic too.
Big ND following in the DC area – “subway alums”.

I’d love to see KSU/Alabama. Just for the fucking hitting. I’d also love to KSU/Oregon just because KSU’s defense would stay in position and not fall for Oregon’s speed.
November 10th, 2012 at 11:22 PM

Not sure I can go with this. KSU’s D looks good, but …
When I watch oregon, they make the field look sooo wide. I haven’t seen a team that can marrow it.

NY, DC, Chicago, Boston, even Philly despite a sizable PSU presence. Tonight’s game was the only sellout BC had all year.
November 10th, 2012 at 11:41 PM
ND is like 2002 Ohio State. They find the least impressive way to win pretty much every week. That game was ugly.
November 10th, 2012 at 11:53 PM
like i said “bammer by 17″
also: almost got in a fight busting a “sandusky” call on a pedophile(PSU) fan…my bad

agree. They are an extremely unimpressive undefeated team. Still can’t believe they beat OK.
Oregon lost Patterson (FS) Marioto and Barner tonight
